Elliot and Rob were my favourite combo. That said- would be really interesting to get PB's own Ben Cathro in the booth based on his encyclopedic knowledge of tracks, technique and racing. I don't think the current commentators do much other than think out loud on a mic- with all due respect to Cedric's legend status as a rider and innovator.
@Davec85: the 'looks like a run' part was the most confusing as until then I had no doubt of it. Luckily the Andorra part was no problem or I might have been complaining about Pal Arsinal--pronounced like the word for a collection of military weapons. Hats off to the fellow who wrote the commence-all joke elsewhere
Who picked some of these camera locations? Some of them are way too close, basically just a blur of the ridder going by, others are at weird angles through the trees where you can barely see the rider.
We want to see the trail, bike, and rider, not the back of spectators heads in the foreground.
@betsie: Pontypool/Tirpentwys tomorrow while the Elites are on, but Sat Evening viewing with a beer and BBQ will be the Elites for me Enjoy your weekend riding matey.
Well, the juniors watch was worth it. They lay it down, crazy how fast each new generation is coming through, the speed of the 13/14 year olds these days is staggering.
@betsie: For anyone wondering "just how good are the 13s" do a search for Harrison/Harry Schofield, Harry the beast... the kid is just astounding.. There's a lot of fast kids but he's a beast as his name says.
Moving up to 15/16 there's the Alran brothers from France, who again are just incredibly fast.. Watching the juniors is the highlight for me.
Leprechaun two: 'Looks like he's on a run in Andorra!'
Does that annoy anyone else? Val Di Sol Trentino was irritating me too. Just call it bloody Val Di Sole.
The coverage is balls.
