@collinmcballin: Another good point. Sprag clutch has some amount of elasticity inherent, which is for me probably the most important feature of sprag clutch, and it really makes shifting much smoother. Instead of clank and bang the shift is smoother audibly and by feeling as well. Even under strong pedalling.

Opinion: Gearboxes Are a Logical Evolution of the Downhill Bike
@kleinblake: How did you know it engaged next gear when you wasn't pedalling ? ;-). It of course cannot shift without pedalling.
All the electro shifter does is wait for your least torque input, rotate the shifting drum. Guy from Pinion said they'd need strong servo to rotate the drum in order to shift under load. That's why they made gadget that waits for least torque and shifts very quickly before another toque spike comes.

Counterpoint: Gearboxes Are Overhyped
It's hard to beat me to clean my chain. I simply clean it 2x a years with jet washer and then lube it. Hence my standard drivetrain is almost never in that ideal laboratory condition.

@thebradjohns: Well, gearbox can actually become the advertiser of DH team. If you have gearbox you're interesting for any content creator because who is interested in seeing the same V10 or Demo again and again? If GB equipped teams gain consistent performance they will be the new showmen. And that's about it.
