First Ride: The 2024 Giant Trance X Advanced
Thought the same thing when I bought the 2020 Advance Pro 1. Tweaked it with a longer air shaft, burlier tire's, touch points, etc. and find it pretty awesome for the price and it's just under 30lbs. I've beat the snot out of it and the TRX carbon wheels are still dead straight. I would buy one again for sure.

An Update from Dan Paley After His Huge Crash at Darkfest 2024
Word of advice - make sure you check the fine print on any insurance policy when travelling for more extreme sports ii.e., mtb, climbing, back country skiing, etc. Most policies do not cover these activities. I had to purchase additional insurance through World Nomads. Cost wasn’t too bad in the end for the piece of mind.

@pargolf8: 100%. I don’t get what the big deal is. I don’t think I’ve ever consciously looked at someones shoes when riding (trail or DH) and made any sort of judgement regarding aesthetics. If it fits well, provides protection, lasts long and I can clip in/out without dying, enough said.
