Why wouldn't he care? I think any normal human being would be worried after seeing that horrible crash. I think it was a good thing he was wearing a neck brace as well.
Poor Stevie, Mick, sam. "stacykohut" you said it!! Ever since Gwin moved to Spesh his Mojo has disappeared. MAybe he came into this years events too confident or maybe everyone else has really stepped up their game. Either way he's gotta a lot to do to get back in there. 1 win would maybe give him what he needs to get back to form. I'm a Huge Gee fan so i hope his winning streak hasn't gone. & lets give it up for Greg!! Absolutely Flawless run, what a Champ he is. Congrats everyone!! Sick Track.
... and everyone said this track would be boring... just shows that its not always the track that makes the race, it's the racers that make it exciting...That thrill is why we love DH... PMB delivered just that!
Whilst I am grateful to be able to watch this stuff live online they really want to pull their socks up as far as coverage goes.
There are a lot of important moments that get missed. Whilst I understand the logistics of dragging cameras up a mountain are tough and that covering every inch of track is nigh on impossible. However, to move this sport on and get it in front of as many people as possible they need to up their game. Imagine how cool sunday's show would have been if we had seen what happened to Gwinn, Atherton etc (even if it is replay after the fact). Looking at an empty frame waiting for them to arrive does not make good TV
Fort Bills coverage was excellent whilst everywhere else has seemed like a half arsed effort. Surely the world champs should be a showcase for the sport?
My vote would be to put the Parkin brothers in charge of media next year!
Unless they can augment time I'm afraid there's nothing they can do in live coverage. In the high seeds (where Graves was) the runs overlap so much that they can't possibly show any more of each one. If they gave the same amount of time to everyone as they do for the top 20 (?) the race would be about 6 hours long.
I agree with more camera angles but there is absolutely no way they can show every section without cameras every 100ft, which is a ridiculous expectation. If a rider crashes in a spot that they don't have a camera, tough shit, deal with it. You can't take out your frustration by blaming the lack of cameras.
And again, what's the point in having more cameras if they can't show the high sections due to overlapping runs. Get Dr Who or some other time traveller involved and maybe they could but with the current state of physical reality they can't do much more.
Don't get me wrong it's bloody annoying to miss so much, but it's down to the race organisers rather than media organisers. It's them who decide the times between runs. Definitely could get some more footage on the higher seeders, too much talking/replay shots/general nonsense.
Completely understand they can't get everything. I guess I just feel the coverage is a bit lacking, probably down to the budget? It can seem pretty unprofessional at times. Thank god for Rob Warner holding it all together...
They should have cameras littered along the track and for the LIVE coverage just do what they do now, so every rider get's a fair share of coverage and so that the feed doesn't go on forever so people don't have to stay up late/whatever it may be.
BUT...
They should have cameras to capture every section and for the replay they should show everyones run in it's entirety, recap videos they could show full runs from the top 3, etc.. and then for the replay you could just skip through and watch your favorite riders/which ever riders full run.
Now tell me, what equipment do they use? I followed the World Cup circuit last season, and I do know. I also know they have more cameras on the hill than you actually think already...
And I think what you're suggesting would require a lot more than you think. If you think your suggestion is feasible then you're a moron, as I originally thought you were joking.
Red Bull uses old technology that they rent, it costs near to nothing. You've got no clue. They also have more cameras on the hill than they actually show in the live feed or the replay, my count at one of the world cups was like 12, now tell me you see 12 different shots in a live feed.
Red Bull wouldn't actually have to buy anything extra nor would it require any more money to do what I've suggested, so why you're arguing about them needing more money is beyond me, I'm simply saying they need to edit the replay and put everybody's full run in, which they DO capture on camera, they just don't show it, for some reason or another.
i am absolutely gutted for Sik Mik, that guy has been up there in what seems to be like in every race and seems to never get a win. "MICK HANNAH IS LIKE THE CHUCK NORRIS OF MTN BIKING!"
After all that product development and speculation the first corner took Smith out. Thats gotta smart! I hope Devinci at least got some consolation that Nick Beer had a good run.
Having the replay is great. I can never watch live since its usually very early Sunday morning here in the US. I just avoid the internet all day (which isn't to hard on the weekend anyway) and watch the replay in the evening.
Sick Track.
4 mn run and only 30 seconds replay...
