Ask Pinkbike Anything - DH vs. AM Bikes, One-By Rings And Tire Widths
"Shimano's Deore XT chainrings are heavily manipulated with shifting aids like ramps, pins and profiled teeth to provide instant shifting" Wick Werks chainrings shift stupid fast and are pretty reasonably priced! I met the engineer at a race were I tried out the rings and he was super helpful and stoked on riding!

Large Kona Stinky 7 Garbanzo w/ 888

$1100 USD
For sale is a 2010 Kona Stinky 7 Garbanzo size Large. This bike was rode very little in the 2010-11 season and then rode regularly during the 2012 season. This is a used bike and some parts have been replaced and some upgraded. The frame is in good condition and has some scratches and scuffs but nothing that would compromise the integrity of the frame. Kona is known for bombproof construction and durability and was the original reason for purchasing this bike knowing the conditions DH/Freeride bikes can go through. The rear triangle dropouts were replaced around the middle of the season and are in great condition. The frame is suspended by a Marzocchi Roco and has 180 mm of travel. The fork on the bike has bike upgraded to a Marzocchi 888 from a 66. Reasons for doing this where to rake out the geometry to ride steeper terrain more aggressively. This 888 is air sprung and features travel adjust which is adjustable from 200mm down to 180mm(which puts it back at it original geometry). It has a couple small scratches on the stanchions but nothing that has affected the function of the fork. The FSA headset is brand new and was installed in August 2012. Also upgraded is the handlebar to a 780mm Kona riser DH bar. This bike rolls on an atomlab DHR on front (brand new in August 2012) and a mavic in the rear. both wheels are wrapped with specialized Butcher DH tires (2.5 up front and 2.3 in rear). The tires are definitely used but still have a some life in them. I am 6'2" tall and this bike in its current state fits me well. I would say that it would fit anyone 5'11' and up for sure. I had a friend that was 6' who rode it around and felt that he could go either way between a large and a medium frame but it also depends on rider preference to an extent. If you are looking for a good deal on a pure race bike then you probably wouldnt even have clicked on this ad. That being said, this bike is used but solid and has lots of life left in it. It would serve as a good bike for a beginner to advanced intermediate looking for a good deal on a bike that can ride it all, take a beating and not worry about it. It you are interested in this bike get ahold of me and we can work out the details. This bike has treated me good and I next owner to have as good as a time riding it as I have. So therefore I am willing to discuss details and send more pictures if wanted.. Thanks for looking and go shred some trails!!
