Get on it mate, doesn't require a carbon superbike. Grab a HT with some 140mm+ forks and give it a go. The whole point of enduro is that it is open to anyone so some of the easier smaller local races you could probably do on your XC bike anyway.
I ride enduro and all mountain type trails on a 100mm hardtail trail bike (a bit slacker geo than a race XC bike) with a 710mm bar and a 60mm stem. There is nothing stopping you!
Had a look at the Camber mate, looks like a decent trail bike and it'll do you fine for your first few races. H/A is a little steep but not enough to be concerned and the stem could do with being a little shorter but really there is nothing there to be concerned about. People always get worried about their bike not being good enough but in the end there are very few riders who actually take their bike to the full limit of the equipment. No more excuses, just get out and ride!
I raced my first Enduro 2 weeks ago. Its a lot harder than I thought - no time to chill on the descents like you would on a marathon race, its flat out all the time on the dh, and riding back up for every stage kills you. Its more like racing an XC lap race - very intense.
They stop. Ascends are not timed, you just have to make it to the start of the next stage before your start time. No reason then to change helments on the fly.
Ok kill me now but i dont like enduro competitions. Allright, its fun and super nice to see all those names having fun and racing together, but whole riding and racing is just boring and doesnt look good. Im sure it is fun to watch in person but videos are just boring. Enduro as type of mountainbiking is something beautiful, real mountainbiking, but i cant say that about enduro events. Now feel free to hate me.
