Lee McCormack's Guide to Bike Set-Up
Fwiw, founds Lee's MTB book pretty darn useful when I started MTB. So much so I passed it on and recommended to a few people. The stuff made sense.
To me the dude is worth listening and trying out his recommendations.
Btw, the measurements from 4.47 are pretty close to what I have on my current bikes. And the prior handlebar ROM article was pretty close too.

Pinkbike Poll - How Much Did You Spend on Your Bike?
Last two bikes where used demo bikes off lbs fleet. 40% off on couple of year old high end builds... no brand loyalty. Just the best deal to be had whenever I get the itch for a new ride.
Bikes have come a long long way. These are now well designed and the components across builds are the same.
Just like cars, wait a 3-4 years and major marks downs on stuff that's will last you another 6
