Dave Weagle Patents High-Pivot Drivetrain System
I can't see DW ever making back the money invested in the patent, let alone any profit on this.
I do like DW - the DW LInked Sunday was a beaut and the Atherton bikes similar but this does seem a case of stating the bleeding obvious rather than a patentable invention.

2022 Pinkbike Awards: Performance of the Year Winner
Can someone please come up with a category for Bernard Kerr to win please? He's had the season of his life and could be runner up in at least 3 of the "Best of" categories.

Discovery to Broadcast World Cup Coverage from 2023
Is there any indication as to whether RedBull were ever in the running for this? Have they dropped MTB coverage after the UCI raised the rent or did the UCI go out to the market with the whole bundle and Disco came in as the highest bidder so it's sayonara Redbull? Either way it's harsh on Redbull given they've bankrolled the whole thing for so long.
I doubt we'll ever know the ins and out f the reasons behind this but I guess we've just got to thank RB for all the investment and the free coverage. They've obviously sunk a decent amount of money into the coverage of the sport and we as viewers have reaped the benefits through their free to air channel. Ok some of the coverage hasn't been perfect but it has had Warner and A/N Other and it's been free and readily available and they've figured out ways to work with the likes of Cathro and other outside guys to provide a much richer coverage.
Worse case scenario is that it goes behind a paywall at an outrageous price, has adverts and the coverage is poor by comparison to the FTA predecessors.
Best case is it's everything we could want; good filming, rich content, informed commentators (Warner) and represents decent value for money. I'd certainly consider paying for the latter.
Fingers crossed here. Interested to see what they're proposing.

Nerding Out: Why You Shouldn't Worry About Pedal Kickback
I’ve got a single pivot, Onyx hub and run flat pedals - I ought to be having all sorts of pedal kickback issues given some of the feedback up there but I don’t feel anything different to running a low engagement Hope hub.
I agree with Seb, it’s all in people’s heads. Buy that Ochain placebo if you buy into it but it’s not really doing anything except adding a load of slack into your initial pedal pickup and I thought we all agreed that was bad . . . didn’t we?
I’m off to watch the Vorsprung video.

“I’m not easily impressed, and this is f****** impressive.”
+1
That is an awesome piece of design and engineering. Maximum kudos for this!
It has so many positives and the only downside I can think of is that it doesn't address the asymmetric rear hub but that's hardly part of it's remit so I'll forgive it.
Fingers crossed you get a lot of uptake and become very successful.

First Look: Manitou's 180mm Mezzer Pro Fork and Mara Pro Shock - Garda Trentino 2019
Shame, a real missed opportunity in my eyes. All that talk of rebuilding the designs from basics and they still cling to the reverse arch! I’m sure is most of the problem people have with current Matinous.
I know it’s, in theory, a superior design as it can be as strong for less weight but it just looks plain wrong especially from above looking down. In the past Manitou have made some of the most iconic forks like the Dorado and XVERT. The XVERT was one of the best looking forks ever and really shows these up to be ugly.
Just wish they could see it.
That and obviously the “Manipoo” nickname, that probably doesn’t help.
