Thomas Lapeyrie Speaks About His Recovery & Rides an eMTB - Video
Its amazing how quickly the body deteriorates without exercise and how long it takes to get back to strength. I broke my heel more than 5 months ago. Two months of complete non weight bearing. Another 6 weeks after that before i could lose the crutches. my whole leg had lost so much muscle..6 kilos in weight. But an injury like that gives you time to reflect, to understand yourself better, physically and mentally, and to appreciate everything you can do, on and off the bike. I think the video captures that really well. Five months on, I've just got back on the mountain bike for my first ride. it was a lame 20 km ride mostly on tarmac, but it was one of the happiest rides..

Ibis Announce Updated Ripley and New LS Model
Happy to see they've sorted out the cable routing. routing through the head tube on the first release was a disaster. Can someone explain what the advantage of a threaded bb is over the press fit - is it solely related to maintenance? Thanks

Opinion: The Dirtbag Life
“At either end of the social spectrum lies a leisure class.” Yes, the 1960's was before the massive rise of the middle class. These days a lot of people manage to ride a good amount without being at one or other end of the spectrum. personally speaking some of my best rides have come after a hard days work, and some of my most productive /rewarding days at work have come after a great ride. Choose your balance & enjoy.

Opinion: New Trails > Everything Else
The more familiar you are with a trail, the less actively you mentally process it while riding. pushing the limits is easier, and always a marginal improvement on the last run. Ride a new trail and your actively processing every small section as you ride it Trail familiarity can makes a good run great. But nail a new trail and a good run feels amazing..
