A Racer's Dream by Hutchinson UR UCI Elite Downhill mountain biking team.

This is a movie that shows downhill mountain biking from a different point of view. Hutchinson UR team is used to making web videos that show a lot of the fun and the bright side of mountain bike racing, with the traveling, the riding and the podiums. A Racer's Dream gives you an insight on all of the above but also shows the other side of the sport with the injuries, the doubts, the research and development, the hard training, the preparation and at the end, the ruthless judgement of the clock.

Follow closely Mick and Tracey Hannah, Fabien Cousinié and Guillaume Cauvin through 14 months of preparation towards their biggest goal of the year : The Downhill World Championships in South Africa.

Becoming World Champion is a racer's dream, it's their dream.

 I think I found Tracey's story the most impressive, after so many bad injuries in one season to still be able to be pick up bronze at World Champs is a pretty awesome achievement. So much mental strength!

 I think Mick's story is the most amazing, but it's just longer. He started working at 14 to pay for his racing career, always training like a mad man. Later on in his career he took a break from racing to be able to see his kids more, but returned in 2010 because he loved the sport that much. In 2010-2011, his return was slowed down because of injuries and sickness. He also went through a divorce just before the 2012 season, so yeah, you culd say he's had his fair share of shit.

 That is cool. Didn't know that about him. I was more referring to the context of the movie. The whole movie was pretty inspiring; to see ppl manage to get through the hard times and have some success is nice. Chase those dreams.

 Mick has to be one of the most deserving but under achieved riders at the top. I mean he has has some crazy good results but his really a guy who deserves more top step and 1st places next to his name.

 Agree holly crashed out hard at fortwilliam but there was nothing not even a word about her or her name mentioned when riders spoke about team mates it was like she was purposely cut from it almost. I think you see her twice. Once in Indonesia when they're all handing out gear and another during fortwilliam track walk. Aside from the great film lover the insight but would have likes to hear more about training although that stuff is all secret these days.

 The story of the film is "The Racer's Dream" of working towards and competing for the World Championships though, not just the story of the Hutchinson U.R. Team. With no disrespect to Holly Feniak, she has no part in the films story since she missed pretty much the entire season and was unable to compete at Worlds. She wasn't purposely cut from the film as a slight, the only team riders featured were at Worlds. With that said, I felt really bad for her and her situation this past year. Holly is clearly one of the most talented female racers to come along recently (in my opinion, one of the most talented ever) and I really hope that her sponsors stick by her until she can get back to where she needs to be in order to return to the World Cup circuit healthy and on the gas!

 It looks like they have just focused on the riders that were already on the team since Tracey's crash and who they got to film for the whole year running up to World. Holly only joined the team in February.. And yes as you guys already said.. she didn't race all season. I guess she couldn't have had much to say for herself.

 I think that fair but she was still. New team rider and a Pretty big prospect in the sport. Her struggle this season and been out if worlds is just as much part of racing as anything else. How hard is it so have her in the film upto fortwilliam have her crashes and then say she was out for the season and continue following the other guys. She only sign in feb but she she still had plenty of past things to talk about her jnr worlds result and transitioning into elite ready for worlds.

 And what makes you think he is rich? DH MTB isn't like Formula1. Only the top 15 riders get a salary they can live off. And I don't think those teams turn a profit at the end of the year. Being the owner sounds more like you put your balls on the line and just pray for your riders to get good results so that sponsors take an interest in you for the following years.

 And how do you propose they fund, flights, new vehicles, accomodation, fuel, excursions, holidays etc etc. The owner of the team normally has some form of financial tie to a wc team, i.e being the financee. do you really think he could do it on a shoe string? Sponsprs do not supply all of the above I have just mentioned.

 Next season, I reckon he could do some serious damage.
The confidence of last season + some tracks that are just tailor-made for him:
PMB first, then Cairns, which is where he trains, Fort Bil, Leogang, and MSA, which are all really pedally tracks.
And then, there's Hafjell for Worlds, and if this time he doesn't overshoot the monster road gap, I reckon he could do it (don't forget he qualified 2nd this year).

 Could have called it "the amazing Tracey" she had such a crazy season with Injuries.

Was disappointed not to see anything about or even a mention of holly. She was out most of the season but there was lots to talk bout her, New team rider, big name in the Jnrs, stepping upto elite, Big crashes in fort William. Even places where she did attend she wasnt seen. It does seem like they tried to purposely cut her out of it. You saw her in two shots which were sort if unavoidable. But even when talking riders never mentioned her name and no mention of another female rider or even acknologments. I found that really slack to do that.

Aside from that which I found a massive downfall to cut someone out, the film however was great. I would have liked to see more insight into training and that but that's kept hush these days.
