dont think I have ridden in Hamner for 15 years, but did do my first ever mtb ride there back in 1989. In the area for xmas so may just have to fit in a day trip

Cycling Brands Under Scrutiny in Gun Control Debate
are the people getting upset about this unaware that camalback sells more to military and civi shooters than it does bike riders? plenty of brands we buy for bike use also directly sell to the shooting world- so targeting(no pun intended) companies just because they are owned by a company that also owns shooting companies strikes me as silly.

@Robeshredder247: You can get uplift, just not chairlift. If you haven't checked out Wairoa yet then you should put it on your to do lift- even if you end up peddling up. Its just not a headliner ticket seller for the likes of Air NZ etc- more for the roadtriping mtb tourist- internal or external. Wish it had been there when I lived in Nelson, but that was so long ago we were just building the first Kaka hill track back then

Carbon vs Aluminum: Separating Environmental Fact From Fiction in the Frame Materials Debate
having visited both carbon and alloy bike/component factories (along with other industries) in three Asian countries and two "western' countries, Ill say that the standards of ppe supplied and needed for both methods vary greatly from factory to factory. if given a choice what material I had to work with but not knowing where that would be I would pick alloy hands down-I still ride carbon bikes/parts though even having visited where some of those items were made and being unimpressed.
