They need to open Willy back up. With Oakridge becoming more popular a lift serviced place seems like a huge boost to the area. I get that biking isn’t profitable for most ski area but let the local GOATs help on the trails. While biking probably won’t ever be a cash cow at least it helps the resort pay down debt, help fund badly needed maintenance, and employ a few more people year round.

I agree 1000% on this. Plus trails by Eugene like Carpenter Bypass which has really improved, and Thurston have really increased the demand for local biking.
They do need to improve the trails to help make the more sustainable (better use of uphill transitions to prevent braking bumps). The hill really just need 4-5 great trails, and a great pump track skills area (the old tubing hill they don't use would be perfect for that.
1. Beginner trail
1-2 Int Flow Trail (maybe more techy stuff on one)
1 Advanced jump trail
1 Advanced DH Pro-cat1 racing line
If they want the bike park to work they should
1. Rent bikes
2. Take advantage of their shorter winter and longer spring/summer/fall than Bachelor.
3. Combine with festival events like Mountain Bike Oregon

There are tons of "features:" at Willamette! These guys only showed you one of the trails on the mountain. Maintenance is done by the riders. If you don't like it come up and do a work party with us! Opening weekend is always good, I'm always there. You will even get so ride in some snow. Hope to see everybody there. Old CAT 1/Pro course needs railed this year! 2012!

That was a awesome video! However, I could not disagree more that Willamette Pass rules. I was excited to go there last weekend and never understood why more people didn't ride there. The biking is a afterthought, 0 maintenance, only a couple features on the whole hill, and the only drop that is actually labeled in this video is 6 FT drop to flat. Just letting people know what there getting into.

willamette pass kicks ass, you just can't be a bitch when you ride it. And for a resort that has a trail budget of literally $0, i think they do a pretty good job.

Wow your right, if I didn't ride like a bitch it would have totally changed the valid points I made and you backed up. Don't worry you can keep hitting that donkey, I'll keep riding other places you don't know about. HeeHaaw!

Bro we have fun where ever we ride. Bones wasn't labeling this as an elite trail in Oregon, just that day up at Willamette kicked ass, we were pumped!

BDN01, you are from Canada and no love for hucks to flat!? As for these 'features' you speak of I could care less how many features these or any trails have. The bottom line is that Willamette Pass is not a bike park, nor do they claim to be such. Simply lift access singletrack trails that are known for being blown out and destroyed . We lucked out this year and had two awesome weekends shredding the semi damp pumice we have all come to love.
