i agree cedric is just a complete legend. He doesn't take things to seriously like Gee Atherton etc.

Yeah, most of pinkbike finds that "middle finger in the air" attitude offensive remember. kinda sad really.

that's the whole point of it though, I remember growing up and reading about people like cedric in bike and decline, and he always stood out because he was always doing the most ridiculous things.

He "gets it" by taking the awesome things about America back to Europe with him by opening a "Sports Bar" and driving Cummins. Cedric rules. Love that guy

I think there are a lot of riders that "get it": Ratboy, Stevie Smith, Steve Peat etc all have fun while they are out there. Its just the edits which people release always make them seem so serious and never smiling, but I would imagine there are more than we would think.
CG however is one of those guys who has done everything throughout his career crankworx, rampage, dh, 4x, filming/freeride and now enduro racing . There arent too many guys that break outside of their main discipline any more. And hes funny as hell, def my favorite personality in mountain biking.

We met him at the camp site at Fort William earlier in the year and he was just like "hell yeah I'll come party with you guys tonight". What an awesome guy, someone who really understands that it's all about having fun and taking it as it comes. I watched his run the next day from down in the event village and almost cried with laughter as he did a one footer. What a guy!

Thank CG for all you've done for many, many generations of riders out there. Your impact on our sport is in class all on it's own. Thank you again for inspiring and keeping it real! Look forward as always to your future endeavors...... To the kiddies, groms, next-gen riders..... Take note on how it's done. Remember it's just bike riding, have fun!

Cedric is still alive. He's a living legend living on. Still racing. Making videos. Doing it right, drinking beer and having fun. What a life.
He'll be missed on the dh tracks, but will KILL it in the Enduro scene.
