Great stuff. You're videos are seriously the best and most inspiring that I've seen all year. Keep up the great work!

@stevestorey: I have now lost over an hour of my life just watching this one video every time I see it.Dont know what it is but I love it.

@nug12182: Ha! Thanks man, happy to produce a video that has this effect. To many more hours but not too many....

Yes, over the last few years. Got really close to opening them up last year but we got too much snow at the end of fall. I walked that forest for a good couple of weeks to make sure I had the perfect line before I even started building haha. Thanks for the props!

@stevestorey: It's really cool that you drop by the comments and interact with fans and answer questions. I wish more riders did that!
keep up the inspirational POV videos and dialed PNW riding.
I find it really interesting that you find these open lines through the forest to lay trail through. Almost as if nature wanted you to build an MTB trail in those exact areas. That must have been miles of walking.

@XCMark: Thanks, Mark. Appreciate the props. It honestly means a lot that people are digging these videos so much. I try to keep to the social aspect of social media as much as I can, it's part of the fun right? And if anyone takes the time to ask something I try to take the time and get back to them.
Miles upon miles of walking. Weeks on end at times! Probably the most important part of trail building. Not everything has to flow perfectly but it's a lot more fun when it does. Funny that you mention the nature aspect, I try to incorporate as much of the natural terrain as I can. I don't think it rides as fun when you try to force something where it doesn't belong. Took quite a while before I figured out a way to connect the top to the bottom on this line!

GREAT! How do you get it so steady? Shooting in 4k wide and then post? Or did you have a stabiliser on your chestie? I've filmed this angle tons but it's always super-jerky. Would love to hear how you did it please!

@Flippinger is correct, I was using a gimbal. The Z1 Rider 2. I was also shooting in 4K superwide but no editing whatsoever. We weren't allowed to edit anything for the contest.

@Ryan-L: Yes, but not a resounding yes. I think what sets this apart from others is how light the gimbal is. Having the remote not attached to the chest is how it stays more stable on the chesty mount. It also allows it to stay closer to your body instead of sitting far out making it even more unstable. Drawback is that the controller is attached by a wire which has been proven to be quite fragile. I've damaged the wire multiple times but was able to half-ass fix it. It did completely fail me on a big trip and I had to order the replacement wire from China, cost $50 for 2.
I haven't tried any others since I liked the video this gimbal produced so much. The good news is that there are many more coming out and maybe something similar to this one will appear. Either with a more rugged cable or wireless controller.
Last thing to consider is that this only works with the GoPro 4 and older. You might be able to rig something up but I'm not positive on that.

@stevestorey: thanks for the advice. most gimbals fall behind like crazy on switch backs. did you adjust the settings or anything?
- + 1
@Ryan-L: No problem. I didn't mess with the settings on this one. I have on other gimbals, mainly on drones though. This one has two pre programmed settings and I only used one of them. The other locks the gimbal on centre which doesn't work too well for mountain biking as you can imagine.

Friend, first of all say that the video is amazing, congratulates for it!
I would like to know which system you used to record some gimbal or something similar or just the Gopro ?, greetings

Wow! Amazing stuff, you should do very well. What kind of Gimbal do you have? footage was so smooth!

@stevestorey: you should post a picture of your chesty gimbal set up sometime if you get a chance. I've been trying to find a good gimbal set up for a while but since they're not super cheap I want to be sure about the set up before I buy one. And sick trails as always. I remember being blown away by how well built Salsa Verde was.

@Willbcxc: Cheers man! Thank you for the kind words. I will try and message you a picture next time I have it out.

It's in town, it's called Salsa Verde. Full story on it here www.pinkbike.com/u/Chromagbikes/blog/steve-storey-salsa-verde.html
Sorry,I can't give out directions online to it. But if you go looking you'll find it eventually It's not all that hidden. And it's way more fun finding a trail when you've put a bit of work into it. Happy hunting!
