There are some legit deals in there this time around. I don't need a dropper or fork for anything but yet here I am contemplating one...

 Don't it's a trap!
  • 5 0
@JayTucc: It is a trap. Pretty good deal on the Reverb though If you need one.

@SteveDekker: If you're going to spend ANY money on a Reverb, you want to make sure you don't waste it. So, here are a few tips: 1. don't lift your bike by the seatpost 2. don't ride in really cold weather 3. don't mess around with the valve at the base 4. don't even look at it 5. ever

@rrolly: I looked at mine one time and it got scared and pooped oil. True Story!

@rrolly: I have a reverb, Just pointing out the price. I have not had any of the problems you plebes seem to have. I ride in Winter and its worked fine in 15 f. Its never failed me in 5 years except for crash damage, including to remotes shattered. Its all scratched up still works great. Learn to install and maintain your equipment!
My next one will be the Fox.

Geeze I was just trying to tell my buddy ninjatarian to stop spending money cause I know what he's already spent on his current build and he even said he didn't need them but was thinking of buying things anyways.

Can we all just agree E bikes are stupid?
  • 2 0
@JayTucc: Yes. Yes we can! I'm building a bike too, I get distracted. Basics first, right?
  • 2 0
The X-Fusion Sweep is a really good deal, I was about to buy it but I already have a RL2 fork and want to try a better damper like the HLR.
  • 2 0
@SteveDekker: you are the chosen one
  • 3 1
@SteveDekker: uh, hello, Steve. I maintain my gear very well, thanks. When I got my three month old reverb back from rockshox and it didn't work right out of the box, that's not a 'me' problem. And it's been rebuilt three times in one year. AND the last time I got it back they gave me a list of things to not do with it. gimme a break, Steve-o. . .
  • 3 0
@rrolly @SteveDekker I can confirm that you are both right. I have 3 reverbs, yes 3! When functioning right it is hands down the best post but it does sometimes have issues. of my 3 posts, 2 have worked flawless for years, one has had issue after issue and finally was replaced by SRAM.

Like @JayTucc said, lets just all agree that ebikes suck.

Those Saint pedals are on sale every single month lol.
  • 3 0
For good reason. I really wanted to like them-rode them once wearing 5 10s, and they had terrible grip and shape. I was constantly slipping around and getting bounced off.
  • 5 0
@pdxkid: hmmm. I've got both and like them. I put the longer pegs on though.
  • 3 2
@pdxkid: I've never ridden them, but just by the looks of them I can't think they would be good.
  • 4 0
@pdxkid: my friend rides them and he took out the spacers under the pins to make them longer and now he likes them.
  • 4 0
@inspiredrider2895: Definately a good point to take the spacers out. They're durable, use bearings, are rebuildable, provide excellent traction and are at an insanely cheap price. I picked up a pair and haven't a complaint yet!
  • 2 2
For 4x as much you can by the TwentySix pedals and save yourself 6x the amount of frustration and add 8x as much fun factor to your sticky ride.

 buy
  • 1 0
@AZRyder: The tool to rebuild them ain't cheap, though
  • 7 0
@David1po: twentysix pedals are so outdated though, its all about twentysevenfive pedals now.
  • 2 0
@groghunter: what tool? I have had mine apart to repack and adjust and only used basic hand tools.
  • 2 0
@Pcarlson: I got a pair that were too tight from the factory, & there was no way you could get that 10mm fitting even if you were lucky enough to find a cone wrench in that size(nobody sells one that small.) ended up sending them back. the official tool costs more than the pedals: www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/shimano-spd-pedal-cone-adjuster-tool-pd63/rp-prod5730

So I'm real curious if you just got a set that were assembled too loose, or what. Because my experience tells me there's no way in hell you got one apart with regular tools, if it was tight.

That Deity DC31 bar is $149CAD no tax + free shipping! Been looking for a wide carbon bar for some time, it has good reviews so I ordered one. this looks like a good deal!

 Waiting for the Fox Float X2 to go on sale.... It'll be awhile ;-;
  • 2 0
That Fox helmet makes you look like a duck and the XT groupset is so cheap they might was well give it away
  • 1 0
Is it? I was looking @ upgrading my 2011 stock gear on my BMC tf03
  • 1 0
@dosCanches: I switched my bike over to all xt. It was just under $300 for shifter, derailleur, cassette, chain, and brakes. My shifting is better than it has ever been, and my brakes are just as powerful as my old avid codes while feeling better at the lever.

Most importantly (for me anyways), its a way low-maintenance groupset. The derailleur hangs under the dropout, rather than poking out the side so its way harder to hit it on rocks. The shifting needs very little adjustment over time. The brake pads load from the rear so you don't even have to remove the wheel to change them. Finally, bleeding these new Shimano brakes is x10 easier than older avids, mineral oil > DOT fluid, and a shimano bleed kit is $5

None of the redirects to Chain Reaction work and, well, if I have to go searching their site instead of following the posted URL, screw it. I will shop somewhere else.
  • 4 2
Yes, god forbid you have to actually search for something on the internet.
  • 1 1
@warmerdamj: Clearly you do not understand how URLs are supposed to work.

@meesterover: That was so cool it scared me, you just took over my computer and googled something I don't understand.

Anyways, I just meant it's ok to look things up on Chain Reaction by your self. I do it all the time. It's part of the reason I have no money.
