Thibaut Daprela Joins the Canyon CLLCTV DH Team
@Roost66: @Roost66: He was/is on the Canyon-Pirelli team which is an associate Canyon team focussed on developing talent. Troy, Luca and now Thibaut are on the premier Canyon CLLCTV factory team. The Canyon/FMD team that Tahnee Seagrave rides with is a similar set up to the Canyon-Pirelli team in that they are their own entity under the CLLCTV banner

CeramicSpeed Announces $669 OSPW X Upgrade for SRAM Transmission Derailleurs
"unique fiber-reinforced composite polyamide material" Mate, It's a glass or CF filled nylon. That material is available in filament form for 3D printing for about £50/kg at the low end. The brass neck of CeramicSpeed to charge £530 for a filled-nylon mech cage with a stainless steel bearing. Look, I can see the benefits of some of the overpriced CeramicSpeed stuff in elite level road and track riding. However, in mountain biking, drivetrain friction and drag is nowhere near as significant a limiting factor to performance as it is in road/track bikes. Suspension kinematics, traction and other factors would be much more significant to mountain biking performance. In terms of "Active Dirt Removal". Just wash your bike vaguely decently and use normal jockey wheels. Assuming £20 for a pair of SRAM jockey wheels, you could buy 26 sets for the price of 1 of these cages. Far be it from me to tell other people how to spend their money, but this just seems an outrageous price for a such minimal gain in performance.

Polygon Factory Racing Looks to be Shutting Down for 2024
I would really like to see a breakdown of what each financial factor contributed to team's decisions to pull out of EWS/EDR/EWC. How badly were they affected by logistics during Covid? Did they over extend themselves on orders and overstock during Covid? What effect has post-covid Inflation had? How much influence has ESO had on the costs of running an Enduro world series team? Are their owners/shareholders purely revenue driven and don't care about having a presence on the racing circuit. I wouldn't be wanting to know in terms of assigning blame and being all, "Ermagerd, Billy from accounts really dropped the ball". I would just like to know what factors actually affect these kinds of decisions and what kind of solutions are available to stop the Enduro world series haemorrhaging teams at its current rate.

Results: Downhill at the US Open 2023
I was chatting to Jack Rice at the World Champs, he told me to keep an eye out for Asa Vermette in the future. He certainly wasn't wrong! What a performance by a 16(?) year old! Beating a whole host of World Cup stars and even World Cup winners. Hope to see his career take off! Likewise, a 15(?) year old Aletha Ostgaard in 2nd only 3.6secs back off a multiple world cup winner at the top of her game?!?! Looks like the Americans have got a couple of future superstars on their hands! Congrats to both of them for such strong results!

Iago Garay Suffers Brain Aneurysm at Pietra Ligure
This was definitely not news that I expected to hear. Very glad that he is stable now and expected to make a full recovery. Must have been terrifying. Big up to the medics who treated him!

First Look: Hope's New F22 Flat Pedal
I am a pretty huge Hope fan-boi, they make high quality gear but that does come at a relatively high cost. As a flat pedal rider, I was stoked to try the F20's when they came out and it Is genuinely the only time I have run a Hope product and been underwhelmed to be point of actually removing them from my bike and selling them on. I just couldn't get them to be both grippy and stable. I do have relativel big feet (Size 11 UK) and I constantly felt that half my foot was off the side of the pedal. The fact there is no concave shape to the body itself and the shape is created by the pins alone seems intriguing. I would quite like to see the plan-view side by side to see if the platform is any wider or if it sits further from the crank. If any company has earned a second chance to make a good flat pedal then it is Hope. But being £50 more than the current gold standard of flat medals that is the aluminium Burgtec Penthouse seems a bit steep. Just my 2 cents, many people will likely have different experiences than mine

UCI & Warner Bros. Discovery Release 2023 World Cup and EWS Calendar
While I definitely understand the frustration that the DH WC only goes through Europe and North America, The fact is that the UCI can only consider locations that apply and are willing to pay the exorbitant fee for hosting a UCI race. Perhaps new and unique locations are unsure if they will see a good return on their investment and don't put in an application. It would be interesting to see how many applications the UCI receive however. I was in Kenya for a wedding in April and shiiiiiiiiiit, there is some truly incredible terrain there. I would absolutely love to see the WC go and race in the Rift Valley area. Business is business though and the almighty Dollar/Pound/Euro/Peso/Rand/Riyal/Rupee will always win out
