Ask anyone entrenched in the gravity side of mountain biking who holds the title for the Greatest of All Time, and you may hear a couple of familiar names: Peaty, Vouilloz, or Minnaar, but one will likely come up over and over again. Anne-Caroline Chausson holds the G.O.A.T. torch with 19 World Championship titles and the first ever women’s Olympic gold in BMX. While there are many great riders, and other world champions, there are very few legends and only one Anne-Caroline.

Such an amazing short of a woman and more importantly a rider - who has set the tone and gone through the tribulations of life. So wise and so determined - Living life day by day and appreciating every moment is a sacred gift to hold onto.
@AutumnMedia: Correct. Anne Caro was smashing clocks a while before Atherton came along. The only real comparison is that Atherton is the modern day equivalent of ACC. You missed some epic racing if you never saw ACC, Cedric & Nico tear it up back in the late 90's/Early 2000's.
Vids about ACC and her lifestyle before and after her DH career always bring a tear to my eye. Such an impressive woman and as others said, has set such a standard for others. What blows me away is until I see her take off her helmet, I tend to mistake her for a male rider because she rides that aggressive. Best part is, she's still got it.
I remember being annoyed by how utterly dominant A-C was back in the day, along with her fellow enfant terrible--Nico. To call A-C dominant may truly be an understatement. Missy G. was fun to watch because of her out-of-control racing style but A-C was exciting because she was smooth, precise and cold-blooded. Bad-ass woman!
@farmerjohnscuz, Agreed. Being from the states I had a soft side for the likes of Palmer & Tomac. Missy too. I'd always end up upset "The Frenchies" won but I secretly admired them for such great runs.
Greatest Of All Time. MTB Hero! No one will likely be able to repeat what she has accomplished in her career. How does a video with a couple dudes riding e-bikes get 350+ comments and AC gets 35 comments? People are completely focused on the wrong things.
Daamn, this sent shivers down my spine! This is not just about Mountainbikes!
AAC is a true legend of the sport, and an inspiration for anyone going through hardships or with the will to succeed in something.
Setting a goal, focusing, fighting, not letting it go even when it seems desperate. True achiever there!
I also love CG in this video, the guys is much smarter and more humble than he wants us to usually believe.
Here I am watching this, cutting up onions. I grew up looking up to two people and that was Nico and ACC. No one else. I would give anything to be able to go for a ride with you both.
What a beautiful video. ACC has always been such an amazing person, both on and off the bike so when she got cancer my first thought was why is it always the great ones who go though that s#it?
Like Cedric said, she's a fighter and she pushed on, and even after the cancer she is an amazing rider and an even better person. She's truly one of the best and most inspiring of the sport!
what a great lady ACC has been an inspiration to thousands of people and even more to women who race downhill or xc, i can feel how she felt when she found out she was sick but she is a fighter and winner good luck in life acc and remember one day at a time
Even with the small amount of riding in it, that was one of the best mtb vids I've seen in a long, long time. It brought a tear to my eye. Such a legend. And I've been their since the start, so I remember the old Sunn team pics of Cedric and Anne. Again, such legends. Hope your remission has had it's arse kicked Anne. Happy Christmas, and heres to more years of killing it, on the track of course, lol. X
I can clearly remember the first MTB Mag that I put my hands on, I was more less 14/yo and my father gave a SoloBici spanish mag, and there was somo photos of ACC, since then I have been a huge fan of she.
@EastCoastDHer: are you serious??!?!?! that was like 15 years ago! well..you couldn´t find them all over the place, but still there were some bookstores where you could find mountain bike action and Bike magazine...and now 15 years later is harder to find any of them in Chile..
I grew into mountain biking with her on the tube and found ACC so inspiring it made me get on that bike rain or shine. The bikes were shit and her riding was incredible.
"Hopefully I can still ride my bike." That's the essence! What would any of us be without our bikes? Mad respect to one of the best bike handlers in MTB history!
