You guys are killing the sport so many of us deeply love.
Cutting off so much of its heritage, only to pack it as condensed as possible into a mainstream tv slot that you think will get viewing numbers.
It probably won’t, but in the meantime you’re ruining something that was much appreciated and cherished by the core fans.

How to Watch the 2023 World Champs
If you're from a country like me where the rights-carrier is only showing ANY interest in XC mtb, and solely because there's a road cyclist taking part in the race, and therefore (live) broadcast zero of any other events, this should get you downhill:

(Don't get me wrong, XC is rad, but disregarding the sport as a whole for years while we've got some great Dutch female athletes at the top-end is weak. So is buying the rights and not broadcasting it.. (DH))

Easy talking for most of us, reality is lots of families and persons are seriously affected.
From what I've seen quite some people who've been fired had also already started way before Covid boom was a thing, and mostly were passionate cyclists.
Hope all land on their feet somewhere else.
