true, he is a legend, and therefore why he cant teach you tricks like this in 4 simple steps like that, danny is amazing, these how to videos on the other hand .... :/
haha true things on bikes do just get done its hard to explain exactly how you do it. expecially something macaskill does. hes so amazing its funny he has a how to vid. dannys amazing
of course!!! thats all there is to it!? its just all about balance?? wow now i will be able to do everything danny does no prob. thanks for the tip i never would have guessed
I thought i had done this when i tried it a while back on my trials bike. i got past the spin and was rolling back. then there is a blank spot. after that a remember getting up with a sore face and a bust lip... Danny is Amazing
Been trying these for ages on my inspired and that video was absolutely no use whatsoever, just another excuse to show off dannys skills....... Not that im complaining or anything.
I like the bits at the end where it says 'practice to take it to the next level', then what he does after that is literally mental!! Like in the last one, the 360 tyre tap, 'practice to take it to the next level' went from a small stair set to and absolutely MASSIVE 12 set. Cant get enough, his vids are amazing
I love how easy they make it sound with the "easy step by step" guide haha. Danny owns it. I can see a metrix sh!t-ton of kids losing a bunch of teeth trying this haha.
Nevertheless.....anyone want to trade their inspired 4play for one of my bmx's so *I* can try busting my teeth out too?!
No doubt you are a legend, but how about teaching the basics first. I think you'd inspire more people to learn if you were more honest and started with wheelies, manuals and hopping.
I agree that duffers like me need to start with the basics before trying any of this. That being said, Ryan Leech's "Art of the Trials" already does an amazing job of teaching the basics. Ryan starts with track standing and goes up from there, breaking every move down into its component parts.
Maybe Danny doesn't want to try to cover the material Ryan has already laid down.
This trick has been around for more than 20 years in freestyle BMX. There are a number of steps to learn before what's shown here. The first step is to learn a 180, roll back then nose manual. Then do it without the rear wheel hitting the ground. Then try the G Turn. If you notice, he's not riding straight into the 180 but carving into it.
I remember learning the balance point was scary as hell cause it's right where it feels like you're about to get dumped on your face.
And you will get dumped on your face.
Good luck. Wear a helmet and don't try and tuck and roll if you get dumped. My dumb ass tried to catch myself for a dislocated shoulder once.
"How to" guide? Er....no, Tech Tuesday has "how to" guides. Come on...yes, Danny has to be one of the most skillful riders this country has ever seen with levels of balance I can but dream of but please Dig Deep, as "how to" videos, these are poor.
the guide is ridiculous. i think you first need to get yourself the stiffest fork/front wheel possible and pump like 4 bars of pressure in a relatively narrow tire to even consider pulling that off.
"and just take it to the next level" ..... Next level? Is there any? in any case I'm afraid he makes it look too simple! I can't immagine how many faceplants he took trying to learn
I like the disclaimer. Pretty much states that you probably shouldn't be trying the skills shown in the video despite the fact that it's a [albeit basic] how-to video.
Nevertheless.....anyone want to trade their inspired 4play for one of my bmx's so *I* can try busting my teeth out too?!
He's so effing smooth...

but I gotta say, when you see brakeless BMX riders doing G-Turns, that is a true level of skill and balance
Danny is simply amazing.
I bet it helps to have one of the nicest street/trials bikes in the world.
