It's scary to think of these BMX guys exploding their melons and their riding seems just as technical and unpredictable as a rough DH trail, but I have to say Tom is killing it. So much going on in his latest video, it's hard to know when to take a breath.
I've said it before, someone needs to get Sean Burns a DH bike and full face, then drop him off in virgin, or kamloops! I shudder to think the kind of lines that guy would hit in the mountains..
Dude, the video only looks rather cool, but in reality it is total nonsence. Altitude sickness at 3000 m (8500 feet, right?)?? Is it a joke? I grew up in a very flat area (and was smoking as a teenager), but hiking with a backpack and ski at 3000 meter is still not a feat or achievement at all. althuogh big, but a city car in a proper off-road terrain? An advertisement and nothing else. posers.
i know im old now but i just cant get over the commitment needed to ride street like dugan with no brakes its crazy, big respect i had enough trouble taking my brakes off to ride flatland
As someone that use to skateboard and now mtb, I love to watch the BMX vids. Real respect for those guys, those are some big ass drops! and that ground aint soft!
Pinkbike, if you think that showing videos of people smashing their heads off concrete without a helmet is right then we must be at polar opposite ends of the moral spectrum.
It doesn't matter how good the riding is or how well the video is shot if you are promoting the absence of wearing a helmet on your site. Our kids watch this stuff and look up to a fashion that could eventually lead them to harm.
This is brought up all the time by others and you do nothing. What do you want? An email one day saying a kid has ended up seriously hurt or worse trying to emulate a video you posted where the most basic of safety devices is absent?
@lee-jordan I think the fact that they left it in helps show the importance of wearing a helmet, and what it can do to you as a consequence of not wearing one. Of course wearing is helmet is essential in any discipline of riding and everyone should be aware, the fact they show that footage him hitting his head helps spread that awareness. Plus this is 1 in 20 videos, Pinkbike have reasons for sharing things beyond the obvious. Keep it up Pinkbike! Hoorah!
I agree with the whole helmet thing, But we all have choices. The guys in the video not wearing helmets have parents too! I'm sure their parents wish they'd wear a lid? The riding is what we're looking at mainly, with a lifestyle they choose and live in. My son wears a helmet because I'm with him, and it'll be my job until he's old enough to make his own mind up.
Man - You need to relax. At the end of the day the parent is going to play a bigger role than some video. You could make that argument about nearly everything on pinkbike. "Pinkbike, stop posting videos of Zink doing crazy drops, my kid now might try that and get injured". Just enjoy the video for what is is and take a chill pill.
Oh won't someone think of the CHILDREN!!!!!!! Hey here's an idea, be a parent and teach your kid to make good decisions. PB has no responsibility in raising your kids.
@lee-jordan Its brought up all the time by fellow helmet police jackasses like yourself but that doesn't make you right. Its idiotic to think that youtube videos are mainly responsible for the actions of kids like parents have no influence whatsoever. Go focus on something of actual importance (like being a better parent) you chode. I'm sorry for the harsh words but mind your own business and to stop trying to prevent awesome edits from being shared because you blame youtube videos for your crappy parenting skills. Thankfully PB is smart enough to know this and will continue to post sick edits regardless of what the helmet crusaders think. "duh like should I like email you once a day with a kid that died cause like he watched an edit on PB and decided not to wear a helmet while hucking off a rootop!?!?" Yeah, OK now I hope you really don't have kids.
It is actually an enduro race, I know because I was in the committee that started it all those years ago, from the beginning its been an enduro race, trojan horsing you until it was acceptable.
so megavelanche, a race you were in the committee that started it all those years ago, is everything you hate about Enduro? i really just wanted to type that out.
2. Sean Burns/Tyler Imel are gnarly as fook
3. Tom Dugan has insane pop
Thanks pinkbike for making Mondays not suck so much.

This needs to be addressed.
