The Australian National Series has been attracting elite mountain bikers for over 20 years. Stay tuned to Pinkbike to catch the highlights from all the DH racing action.
Can i just point out that we're holding a World Cup in Cairns and MTBA can't seem to get nationals event going up there. 4 races for such a large country really is a piss poor effort.
Hard to detect your sarcasm (suspect some may be present) but just to clear things up.. The shoe literally flew off upon impact of the crash. Was quite a site.
Wait a minute. First of all, I know the difference between Australia and New Zealand. I got family in Australia. I said New Zealand because I want to go to New Zealand and ride. Go from the tropical North to the mountains of a cold Middle Earth landscape in the South. Rent a caravan and camp on the side of the road every night.
In Europe there is miserable weather and temperatures under the zero and yeah, in january they gonna race on dusty tracks in Australia , you lucky bastards!
we have -5 C now and the first snow came last night. But i feel it is really welcoming. Its time to heal the body and fix the bikes. (I´ve been riding 4 days a week since may 8th 2013 - january 11th 2014 and building tracks too so for me, winter is welcome anyway. Its even more fun to ride the bike when you had a hiatus from it).
Lucky? In Adelaide where the first round is being held - yesterday was 40ºC, today is 42, tomorrow is 43, Thursday is 43 but cooling down to 40 on Friday for the first day of DH...ever been riding in 40+ºC heat?
That being said, we were up at Eagle park last weekend, it's in good condition and the new jump line is awesome.
Oh, and if that French guy wearing POC gear on the black carbon Mojo? is on pinkbike, thanks for helping me out after I snapped a gear cable and my mate had ridden off with my toolkit, cheers dude!
At the moment if I go for a ride I'll come home with more dust than bike. Also you have to be careful because snakes are out and they aren't all little garden snakes, they're big brown snakes and red belly black snakes.
Those snakes really help you improve bunny hopping. Watched a bloke brake and stop right on top of one and of course he then freaked out. I was to worried at the time but laughed hard with him afterwards.
Yeah why isn't the DH series held in the winter. I only ride in summer enough to keep fit and to test the lines I'm building for winter after beating the ground a lot for Dugites, King Browns and Tigersnakes. Used to have similar problems with water mocassans when I lived in Florida but, at least it rained a bit and there wasn't any ball bearing gravel. Someone really needs to invent a cooling system for use with full DH gear. 661 used to have some kind of fancy neck sponge but they don't sell them anymore.

Thanks for clearing that up for me
