What happens when two pro athletes from different disciplines come together to lay first tracks on a progressive new mountain bike trail in coastal Oregon crafted by local builders with help from regional advocacy group TORTA MTB? Childhood friends and 10Barrel Brewing athletes Carson Storch and Lucas Wachs show us the pure stoke of breaking in a new trail named “Sicko.”
Lucas is an insanely good skier, I always thought he was chronically underrated. Could be a tall order for Carson trying to keep up as Lucas does huge BC doubles. Stoked to see him shred the bike pretty dang well too.
@IsaacWislon82: Oh for sure, it wouldn't be an edit of big hits just like this one wasn't, or at least what I'm envisioning. More fun project vibe showcasing skills on creative terrain.
Any intel on if this is going to be open to the public? The TORTA MTB group involvement hopefully means it is, but if not we should respect underground builders, these guys keep this sport alive.
private...TORTA trails will be in a slightly different spot, they just updated their website and map a few weeks ago...i think they hope to start breaking ground in janurary fromt he last update i saw
@mustbike: I watched a video about Dream Track in New Zealand and they said it cost around $5k to build. I'd be down to throw in on something like that and spend a few days in a digger.
Digging starts on the public TORTA project in January - same trailbuilders, same dirt, same awesome PNW vibe. There are plenty of ways to help out, some of which can be done without ever leaving your home. (More info on that in the coming months).
