The 28 year old from central France is now focused on the Olympic Games in Japan after fulfilling his two-decade-long dream of clinching the Rainbow Stripes in Leogang last year.

bigquotesReally excited to join the Specialized Factory Racing family! It’s the next chapter in my career and I’m super motivated to carry the stripes as high as possible. Let’s rock 2021, I’m sure it will be Epic. I’m back where it all started.Jordan Sarrou

I am pretty sure that he will get his new SWorks before I get the one I ordered...five or so months ago....lucky dude.

It’s because you’re just another rider.

 Rainbow stripes ship faster
  • 13 6
At least you got the chance to let the world know that you ordered an s-works.
Sorry for disappointing you: The world doesn‘t care.

@Mettwurst82: dude makes obvious joke about top tier racers getting the best equipment. As well as expressing pride plus frustration with his purchase. I'd say as unnecessary as his comment may be, the world deff wasn't waiting on yours.
  • 4 1
his attitude in the eliot jackson thread fired me up to get a bit bitchy here. don‘t take it too serious Wink

@Mettwurst82: I looked at that guys comments. Sounds like @JustAnotherRiderHere is actually just another ignorant privileged white guy.
  • 2 1
@nateross8: woah, dude. Chill out. We’re talking about mountain bikes here after all.
  • 1 1
@flaflow: I was waiting on @Mettwurst82 reply it was funny made my day. Also if anyone thinks a Team bike comes from the same "production line" as their S-works they should gently mocked...

@trekstp-half: In a bike check within the last couple of years I spotted the factory-applied warranty sticker still on one of Peter Sagan's bikes. Specialized has the capability to make frames in-house for prototyping but it would seem they don't use it for team bikes, or at least not always.

I think Gerhard Kerschbaumer joins Specialized factory team. His Instagram story shows he stays Stellenbosch, where Jorday stays Smile

 "it will be epic" Wink

He definitely won’t diverge from the podium.

Rainbow stripes earned him a whole new status

I heard he got to Demo the Spesh while riding for BMC.
  • 3 2
@Glory831Guy: Of course... you'd be crazy to step away from a program that works for you without taking a Demo on some decent Camber

How gutted would you be if a rider wins the striped jersey riding your bike, then races all of the following season wearing it on another brands bike.
  • 25 3
Probably slightly less gutted than you’d be if you paid a ton of chien to get the world champ on your bike and then they went to shit after joining!
Sam Hill, Jared Graves, Aaron Gwin...

But if it's to welcome your world champion wife, the rainbow stripes stay on board anyway...
  • 11 0
Given that Absolute Absalon (BMC) just signed the only person to hold the XC, Road and CX stripes at the same time, who is also the current world champ, and has 6x the followers, I think BMC/AA will be OK.
  • 2 0
They're probably stoked to have PFP, but I'm sure the team would've liked to keep Sarrou and his rainbow jersey this season as well.
  • 4 1
@bigkev123 Kate Courtney did the same thing in reverse... Won her Rainbow Stripes on an Epic and moved to a Spark the next season. I know what you're getting at. Especially with a young rider you've brought up over numerous years in your development program. It can't be a good feeling but, tis the way of the world. Bite the bullet and move on.

I think most people understand that all the companies design great bikes - I usually have my fave riders but I choose bikes based on a lot of other factors. Looks and price mostly.

Maybe he will break the curse of Specialized slowing down every fast rider going to the team.
  • 1 0
was kulhavy always on the team, or did he transfer into them?
  • 2 0
@VTwintips: Kulhavy joined Specialized (Factory) Racing after riding on Specilized bikes in czech team Rubena Birell Specialized.

@Vudu74 Who in particular are you referring to?
  • 6 0
Loic seems to have done OK !
  • 12 0
@Killerfox: Actually, Specialized slowed down Loïc, but it was for his own safety, otherwise he was going to put himself onto orbit

He looks like a computer sales man.

A computer salesman whose abs I can see through his shirt? We buy computers from very different people I think...

and you sound like a dick.

Rather typical move by Specialized.. I hope he continues to win more races. Sarrou and Pidcock make for a pretty strong lineup. Who will replace Langvad?
  • 3 0
@hollowing2000 Been wondering the same thing ever since Annika announced her retirement.
In the pipeline they've got Haley Batten at 22 and Laura Stigger and even though she did some races with the Elites in 2020 she's only 20 years old. I don't think Jenny is going to join the factory team. From everything I've read/heard she is very happy doing her Team 31 thing and being supported. There is a possibility that they won't do anything and just wait until the youngsters come of age. ???

As for the gents. Not sure what's going to happen with Pidcock racing XC since he joined the Ineos Grenadiers back in September. They ride Pinarello's who don't make MTB's so there wouldn't be a conflict there.
As far as Ineos OK'ing him racing XC.... I don't know..... we'll see.
Simon Andreassen & Alan Hatherly are gone. It looks like Christopher Blevins will be staying.
That's all I could piece together at this juncture. Hoping for a better/longer 2021 season.

@Augustus-G: Blevins has been shipped off the Specialized Factory team. He is racing for Team Trinity in 2021. It would be nice to see Blevins focus 100% on racing bikes in 2021. He has various interests including school and music/poetry. At one time I was hoping he would be the USA answer to MvdP because he was racing road, CX and MTB.
  • 2 0
@PapaStone: Thanks for the update. Just looked at their media release from 21-Dec.
Looks like they picked up 4 MTB riders for the 2021 season. Blevins, Batten, Chiara Teocchi and Alex Malacarne. My first thought was Pidcock leaves and they pick up these four young riders.
I don't know much about Trinity but it looks like they're really working at establishing themselves in Road, CX & XC cycling and they're a Specialized supported team. Thanks again for the heads up.

Laura Stigger is probably worth a lot more now... And let's not forget Kerschbaumer, Marotte and Batty switching team..
  • 2 1
Listen up everyone, with very few exceptions every World Cup rider would probably beat your ass on a Walmart huffy. Don’t fool yourselves. On that level its probably 5% bike and 95% athlete. My advice, choose a bike that fits our wallet and you like and go shred!

 Everyone is so "excited."
  • 12 0
And they just can't hide it
  • 6 0
@BigMedicine: I am not certain, but I hear that they are about to loose control, and possibly like it.....

Maybe Barbi Benko will be signed by Specialized as well? She just got off Ghost.
  • 1 0
PFP said on "l'équipe" she wanted to be in a structure 100% focused on her and no one else.
It seems that it doomed Sarrou.
  • 2 2
She's a diva, and she's got too much ego... Pretty good thing Sarrou left this team in my opinion. I wouldn't bear her all year long.
