Hey, you wanna know why it is real, look at the f*cking tree on the right of him! Looks about right for a human/small tree ratio you retards. It's just amazing riding and talent and balls, so stop sayin it's fake, cos it's fuking not!!
i can see why people would say it is fake or photoshopped cause is is freekin' unbelievable, but because it is legit, all those non-believers can shove off... hats off to you sir, you've done what nearly all wouldn't have the balls to attempt. Well deserved POD, couldn't imagin the rush of that ride....
to sam: give me your email-adress and I send you the not compressed 5MB pic. directly from my camera so you can zoom in better. (panasonic DMC-TZ5) it's taken with 10x optic zoom from a distance of about 50 meters.
Last summer I already rode the steps when there was no water coming down. So I knew already which steps I was able to ride and which ones I had to hop down on the back wheel as I used to do in trails competition. I used maxxis minion DHF 42a 2.5 UST with less than 2 bar in it to have maximum grip. I have the non compressed picture in 4.3 MB size on my computer.
Looks like the spillway of a dam. Perhaps designed to allow some aquatic life to ascend into the dam or perhaps just to look pretty. I'm sure this is not the ONLY photo on the internet of this place.
The drop behind the rider looks about five feet high. It looks perfectly doable for a good rider. Not photoshopped. Why would anyone bother?
If nosewheely told us the name of the place you could Google images in a heartbeat - probably with people standing in front of the drops. And then everyone who says its photoshopped would look like a tool!
No photoshop read above. ( i trust belgium people)
Maar moest wel ff nadenken ... want dit is echt te vet!!!! Eerste wat ik dacht was omg daar wil ik vanaf , na goed kijken zie ik ook daadwerkelijk iemand haha!!
Okay,
1. punch 'lago di tenno, italy' into google maps.
2. go about 500 metres to the south west of the bottom left hand corner of the lake.
3. Change to the satellite view if you aren't already.
That long caterpiller looking thing is the 'stairway'.
If someone can find a link to a tourist's photo of the thing, post the link please. I'm done.
I'm still trying to find a tourist shot of the thing.
omfg who said that the trees look like grass.. must have been very dumb .. :S it's obvious that these are trees, or bushes, i don't know.. but in no way this is grass!
Ufff, i could do that with my eyes closed!! The reason my eyes are closed is beause ill be at the top and when im about to drop the first step ill have a heart attack and di but still my eyes closed
dude if only i had a bike and an opportunity i would do some stupid but awesome shit like that but anyway very sick a people check this out its such a better pic of this
thats not photoshopped! where would he get the samples from to make the other ledges? If it was edited then every step would be the same and so would the water flow! SICK PICTURE!
why doesn't the location of the picture be given, then we can see for ourselves online using google earth or other pictures of it...where exactly is it?
i think it could be fake because the "tree" beside the rider is clearly a weed and if it was a tree then the guy is like 3 times fatter than the tree trunk also he guys darker than everything else witch could indacate 2 seprate light sorces from 2 completly diffrent photos. not saying its defo fake and etheir way i think it deserved the POD
P.S.the views and opinions (and bad spelling) expressed in this coment are not those of stuart0793, im his friend who has his password
its such an awesome shot and unique that im at a loss of words at just how cool it is, bravo guy, clearly one of the most exciting nice shots for a POD in maybe ever, or as long as i've been lookin on pinkbike
Lol, if it is real (which it problably isnt), what is the point than of only taking a picture, if he would've done this, there would shorly have been some sort of recording of it.
You dont do this once in a lifetime and only take 1 photo of the big thing....
Go on that link on one of the comments b4.. you can see by his face hes being sprayed,, and the wheels are on the rocks,, personally i dont think its shopped.. but if it is then its some freakin good photoshop skills!
it is a good POD and all but to me it looks fake but it doesnt matter if its photoshop or not in my mind to me all it has to be is a good picture which this is so definatly POD worthy
thats such a cool pic. when you look at the small link photo it just looks like a load of waterfalls but then when you go to the big one yoyu see one insane freerider
minifish, have you ever herd of BUSHES??? it's not 'giant' grass, there called bushes, and the water is falling as it should do (the whole water-fall is man made)and it is possibal if you'v got balls to spare! =P
HAHAHAHA OMG OMG OMG
it took me about 10 looks at the pic to find a rider, i was looking at it like wtf is this here as pod for there is nothing about biking, 5 mins later, still looking and 'oh, there he is'
haha
whats everyones problem with this photo, its def real, not shopped, 2bh i believe he rode the whole thing, but he could of just as easily walked there and just rolled on that one flat section for the photo, but grow up people, and give the photo and rider props, looks dope and fun 2 me
Of course it's not Photoshopped. Although I couldn't ride it, it's just a series of pretty small drop off's... Not anything particularly ground breaking.
that is either one very very small man on a very very small bike, or it is a very big waterfall thingymajig. watever it is it deservs one very big POD!
look again about those 10 foot drops. closer to 5 at most with big runouts. the cracks between the rocks are easily ridden and the water level is below the rocks, not about to sweep anything away. i'd ride that anytime. its amazing, but calm down. and there's no need to fake something which is not that insane.
Why? looks like he rode down some man made water fall staircase type thing with small drops to barely there landings. The water would make it interesting but that is all. SICK riding!
I'll agree with that. Lots of people love to doubt and rip things apart. A bit of scepticism is good, but it easily goes too far. I love trials, in its own right. But the skills learned have made me a much better rider/freerider for sure. Your picture is truly wild! Most people wouldn't even think to ride that! Thanks for sharing it. Matt
Ok, I want to believe its real, and when you zoom in on the photo, the riders pixels match perfectly fine with the surrounding pixels, but how does showing the pic on picasa prove anything different?
because you can see, that as you said "the pixels match PERFECT". There is no such thing as perfect in photoshop. teh rider is equally as focused as the rocks which means the lens used has the same focal length when shooting both, the chances of two things being shot at seperate places, maybe even with different camera's and lenses' and turning out the same is going to be pretty weird.
dude the "small sticks" are called Small logs, oh and zoom in and check out the "grass" its got leaves and branches... its most probably a man made waterfall(like this one?)
I agree actually, zooming in on the photo which he uploaded to Picasa, you can see sticks at the bottom right corner of the photo!! Also if we think at the probability for a minute; it is obviously man made, and for a start they would never bother making something that big, and secondly; they made it in the shape of steps... why would they do that if they weren't steps?? Sorry but this is so horribly fake, though I just wish it wasn't.
ah just let him be josh.... quote: they would never bother making something that big " waht about piramids stupid or these days sky scrapers... if anything is fake ....ITS YOU !
So let me get this straight, "cyberhawk" you feel I shouldn't, and can't be taken seriously, because i'm 16? Maybe i'm not the one who needs to grow up; age discrimination frankly doesn't cut it; I made my point and if you cared to look at the photo he linked to it's quite clear that it's not real. Pyramids were made primarily as burials for kings, but most Egyptologists also believe that the pyramids were meant to serve as tombs for the pharaohs. Sky scrapers have a purpose too; they are an efficient use of space in urban area's, and they provide work for thousands of people! What makes ME fake?? Also, "josh-y" if you look at the photo carefully (when zoomed in) you can see twigs poking through the cracks between the rocks, and also the "trees" next to the rider don't have sufficient trunk size to be able to support themselves, were they actually to be trees rather than small shrubs!
you really think i am going to remember all the crap from every kid on pinkbike if i open my dash its full of crap.. most of it by kids.. one crappy statement mingled in the other.. american or not your still a kid..
and dont give me crap about my spelling... go to school pubes..
ooh i'm a kid well done... talking about crappy statements... "go to school pubes" right... maybe you should go to law school or something, THEN you could learn how to make good comebacks!
there's alot of people that are really dumb, just as many are ignorant. which one are you cyberhawk to engage and give a 16yr old crap? got no comebacks rolto just nominate cyber for today's DDB.
Well when i read it, where you put 'they would never bother making something that big' i thought u meant biker would never build somhing that big so thats why i said it might not actually be made for bikers (for a river or some thing like that) but bikers found it and said "Oh that looks like fun" and started doing it
Ah right , no i say that because if it were to be real, it would be a giant, man made staircase, so they wouldn't make it that big because it would be useless as anything other than just to look at; which is one reason I think it's fake!
