Review: Nukeproof Mega 290c Factory
As a gen1 owner of that bike I really like the honesty and technical aspects of that review. It is a great bike, with some flaws, that need to be adressed. To get the best out of your Mega you should really try and downsize on the chainring. I went as low as 26t paired with an e13 cassette. Sooo much better while sprinting out of the saddle, makes the bike much more direct to pedal input. Secondly the digression at the beginning of the travel. With gen1 it was even worse. BUT: a good crossover stack in the compression circuit of the shock compensates for that issue nicely. Should be stock, but for some reason bigger companies do not have the balls to spec that on this and similar leverage curves.

Review: Transition's New Sentinel V2 - Now With More Travel
Nah, they should just skip that, for a simple reason: since all the muppets are buying effin stupid carbon for no reason but looks, transition does not put any effort in the development of a reasonably light aluminium alloy frame (bitches!). And then you‘ll end up with a 4,2kg frame without shock in size m. Look at Norco sight, gt force 29 and v1, it is quite ridicilous. So no, just cut the crap and buy from companies who put real effort in aluminium frames and enjoy no disadvantages whatsoever compared to carbon for 1000€ less. Banshee is a good call.

If you really wanna learn something in detail, check out thumpertalk: dyno data - and what it tells us about how to tune a shimstack...Or check out shimrestackor directly. The guy running that page/software is incredible (user name „clicked“ on thumpertalk).

Why have you made your compression pistons plus acc. stacks excessively digressive from 2014 forward? A bit of digression is defo desired, but the port sizes and shimstacks (way too much preload) you implemented were not well received imo and all reputable tuners I know use quite a different approach to valve design to avoid a relatively sharp knee in the damping curve and give you a better transition between different shaft velocities. Also, do you get your inspiration from moto valving or where does your philosophy come from? P.s. I like your stuff, really, great tuning basis...

Trying to answer the ultimate question: from all of jordi‘s experience, what would be a good middleground for the „perfect“ compression and rebound damping curves and how to get there (midvalve vs. basevalve, piston design, stacks...).

Remember the times about 10 years ago, when all the alloy rims failed catastrophically in tests? Yeah, me neither, cuz it never friggin happened!
