One version of ‘living the dream’ is a lifestyle based around spending every day riding endless downhill. Like a die-hard surfers living close to the beach, passion-driven riders are building a community around the world famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park. This dream requires sacrifice. But no sacrifice is too big for the committed. In the greater mountain bike community we hold these people up as purists. They are the ones we think of when we feel trapped in our own routines. They are the ones that help keep our dreams alive.

I remember once when it just got done raining i tried to do that drift that one dude does out of a drop. Yeah my back tire ended up in front of me and i just looked really stupid when i ate shit..
Bought the movie on iTunes. Started watching it on the bus ride in to work. Got so jacked up when the Whistler part started that I had to turn it off for fear of losing my sh*t. The Anthill guys totally nailed it with the reverse-time-lapse effect. And that freakin' whip at the end is RIDICULOUS.
Ummmm.. "I wish dirt fell like snow..." Get a snowboard or a set of skis or a snowbike... there is no excuse to not have fun and progress. Other then that, the scene with the mile long foot drag... F**K'n sweet!
That last whip was insane, sent chills down my spine. My lifetime goal is to live in whistler, for a consecutive 5 years in my life, and I plan on achieving that in my 20's.
Absolutely fantastic film. I was inspired by the clip to buy the bluray, which is such a beautifully filmed peice of work. Only minor critism is that it is only 45 mins long, which is not grat value for money when it cost £25 for the bluray/dvd version.
Not a whinge, just would have loved to have seen more footage.
The entire winter is worth it for the magic of that opening day. The anticipation, the build up and the atmosphere awaiting that first day is not something anybody should be without.
I rode there Sunday. minimal line ups. Garbanzo zone, ride up to the chair jump on. we rode from 11:00 AM until 7:30 PM. some of the popular trails are busy. but there are tons of trails that are never busy. trust me you will not be disappointed .
I regret buying the film now seeing as they keep throwing bits out for free....dont mind supporting them, but if they are doing it for free anyway, defeats the point of buying it...
You can find just about every part of almost any video on youtube. NWD, Life Cycles, Seasons, you name it. If you don't support the filmmakers there will be no reason for them to put out anything new
How about the drive to just film? Which I imagine is their passion anyway so there will always be new films. That said I feel strongly about supporting artists whether it be film makers or musicians etc so yeah man, pay the money if you have it these guys deserve it!
Yes there will always be new films, but the filmmakers need the funding from the last film to start a project that is better than the last, especially if Red Bull isn't backing them
i'd rather pay $10 via itunes and be able to see the whole movie in it's entirety, than watch clips on any site... anthill is well deserving of my hard earned money..!
Not a whinge, just would have loved to have seen more footage.
10/10 for the film
I'll be there on the 18th and I'm stoked as F**K!!!!!
