both videos are super boring. i don't know about anyone else, but jump trail videos with lots of slow-mo over and over again aren't really what i'm looking for.

Shoot, I nearly grew up in Driggs, and there is so much more to ride than what these two stupid edits show! Don't judge Jhole from these two videos! It has so much more to offer; its prob the best place outside of the north shore to ride. Deff better than Winter Park or Keystone.

I come over from Idaho and ride these several times a summer, never heard of True Grit or Bronco. Maybe what we call fuzzy bunny or where are they?

I guess what I know is the main trail (main trail in my head anyway), which would start at jimmy's mom, do parallel and jump line.

Fuzzy Bunny starts up at almost the top and runs down to the paved road.

And then there is lithium up top.

What else is there?

Man, some of these comments seem a bit harsh...the pass can be smooth and jumpy or break-yer-neck gnarly if you want to ride it that way, imo. Its easy to nitpick this vid, whatever, its just a vid on pinkbike, its not coming to a theater near you. If you don't like the way it makes JH look, then stay away and rage your own backyard bike trails. If the trails in this area were all straight fall line rocky runs, then everyone's braking/crashing/slash turns would cause some serious damage, quickly, to the area. I don't know how Teton N.F. people have been working with bikers on these trails, but I think we'd all agree that we don't want any trouble from the feds. Since I am living 4 hours away in Montana, I wouldn't be a working trail crew member (although I personally like the squirrely steep stuff better than a bunch of jumps). just sayin. this movie makes me want to push my bike up through the snow for a ride.

No kidding. I thought the first vid was sick too. Being so close to Jackson is a treat being able to drive there in 3 hours and shuttle all day. And the riding is killer. There is not much more you can ask for from the terrain...the gnarly, rocky, Lithium to the Fuz, Parallel, and Power Lines. It has absolutely everything on any scale you want to take it. And believe me running a train on those lines in the pass can get a bit sketchy...one person down and it's chaotic. The way I see it, if people dislike what it has to offer, don't go. Means more pass shuttles for the people that love it!

You all need to chill, these jumps are not GREEN or BLUE or BLACK they are 100% USDA FREE FOR ALL and there is no better designation that that! Nice sampling of some of the goods on Parallel and Fuzzy Bunny. These sections have been shot by us, Andrew Whiteford and many many others but THESE ANGLES KILL IT!

I think that the third rider in the first lap through Parallel 8 Pack touched the camera. Good work BOYS!

What the crap? i was all excited, my family is from Driggs, Jacksons world class riding is getting promoted, but then these two edits show none of the new stuff on fuzzy bunnies, no power lines, to say nothing of Lithium! Plus the bike park only showed the beginner lines when their big jump line is so good!

Very disappointed.

Where am I wrong? The first half of the vid was the jump section right before the bonner jump toward the end of Parallel. The second half is the flat traverses that connect the good sections. There was the one stepdown into the berm left, and the rock drop, but what about all those huge gaps that are new?

NOT STOKED ON THE COMMENTS...You guys sure are harsh to a guy that was a principal camera and photographer of Freedom Riders and they can throw down to boot. This was shot in a few days and shows very unique angles!

I love the flow and pacing of the One Last Session, could do without the Jackson Hole webisode but that is because I don't pay to ride. Anyway Teton Freeriding is growing faster on public land than anyone else in the lower 48 and we're to great for hate, mate ~;-).

P.S. The music is well thought out and there is an aesthetic that is very different...sorry you want PORN! I liked it!

Though the video only really shows a few features on the pass, it has some sweet camera angles and still makes me want to ditch work and grab my bike. Good work guys. Look forward to seeing more from you. I rode over the step down gap on Fuzzy as you guys were setting up the cable. Now I know what the hell yall were doing. Pretty cool to see the finished product.

Oh, and rffr...if you arent taking advantage of the backcountry riding, I feel for you man. Resorts are fun for making a bunch of laps and hanging out drinking beer, but they dont get close to the congestion free, unbridled aspects of backcountry riding. The Village will eventually have some more extreme stuff, but until then (and even then) the Pass is WAY more fun!

Went to the park this summer, ripped up all three trails they had open haha. Fun place. Not as big as it could be yet, but pretty cool. If you go there rent from The Hub, AWESOME dudes, and even sicker bikes.

For me, the selection of well built trails in JH is hard to beat. It's not the gnarliest but it's alot of fun. Where else can you ride that has a bar at the end of every run.

Yeah, I was there a while ago and after discovering true grit I pretty much ran laps on it all day. It is like a mini version of rainmaker. Hahaha their black diamond "technical" downhill trail was a joke compaired to grand targhee though.

Honestly, unless they have some double black diamond gnarly and technical as hell runs, I won't bother to go. This "flowy" crap might be good for people that like to jump "jumps" (like a line), but some of us like stuff that will easily destroy most dh bikes in terms of beatdown. Make 5-10 sheer gnarly/technical (steep is a +) runs, and many MANY more people would flock there. Until then, it's all about Vail, CO, and Northstar (in CA) for me. No one will road trip unless there is some gnar involved. Rocky, rutted, ultra technical is IMO the most fun. I get bored with this bermed stuff. Especially since I raced BMX for over a decade 6 times a week. GNAR is what it's about. You want to put JH hole on the map, bring some GNAR into it. Something that really pushes peoples safety and limits. Only way you will get JH on the map. DH racers, and freeriders want GNAR. Period. As much as I love JH, they really need to offer some truly burly stuff, otherwise it's just going a bit further and hitting up a resort in CO, or CA that offers such.

Your argument is also total nonsense, they've built a set of trials a wide variety of riders can ride. Not just trails a narrow spectrum of riders would appreciate. There are far more trail riders than DHers out there.

rffr has a great point. Jackson Hole is known for it's steep, natural skiing. The bike park looks totally mellow and man-made. They could easily make some steep techy trails.

BTW, has Vail stepped up their game? I recall a few years ago that they only had 3-4 trails that weren't anything special. The hidden trails were the most fun, but nothing was super techy I recall. (Matterhorn is still one of my all time faves!)

Jackson bike park has had downhill trails for like two years maybe. It is where the rich tourists take their kids and some locals try to make some skrilla... but EVERYBODY loves the pass. If the resort is too mellow (which it will be for 90% of people) go to the pass and see what your made of. I was there this summer and one of the locals literally broke his neck on a section. I was lucky enough to dislocate fingers. The first video doesnt show a quarter of the ridable terrain on the pass. Check out the movie FREEDOM RIDERS to see the full persective, but whatever you do, dont talk shit on teton pass, because it will turn you around and rape you harder than you think.

These movies suck; there is so much more out there to ride at Jhole! The resort is smooth and flowy, true, but they didn't even show the best trail they have! Their best line is almost on par with A line and Dirt merchant.

Also, they showed the same 3 crappy jumps on the pass when there is so much more! Looks like they were just too lazy to move the cable cam around.

cool movies, i know those are only small portions of what you guys have to offer but def looking like you can easily pick up some speed to flow through those jumps, berms etc. looks like it will attract a wide group of people next season. on another note northstar is cool but aint all that is hyped up to be imo. it challenges you but theres just a shit ton of silt which causes so many problems, sharp rocks, ruts that are all throughout the trail some worse than others which for the most part is fine but seems like there was a lack of maintenance to some other trails.. i say this because the first time went out there 5-6 years ago on my haro shredder and for the most was shredding the trails up - karpiel.. the under the chairlift which i bomb now with my downhill bike. anyways looks like fun and good luck next season!

I prefer natural , rough trails my self too but over here in the UK all we have is natural rough trails which is fun and challenging but not any thing new or exciting , while we have some awesome tech trails over here we have no real bike parks that offer you this ' whistler ' style of riding smooth , bermed jump trails ( which seems to be the fashion these days ) so I can totally see the appeal of these tracks.
Just count your self lucky to have such a rich and well invested in bike scene over there that offers you this wide choice of riding styles.

Guys, the issue is the natural terrain JH offers, and they seem to bypass it all at the resort for ultra man made "flowy" stuff. It's not shitting on them, it's just saying, if they want to be put on the map, they need literally ALL TYPES of trails.

On the comment of Vail, Vail stepped up their game a bit, but like you already know, the best trails are hidden or off the map.

That's how some trails should be. Jagged rocks, rutty as hell, roots, and almost no maintainence. That is what makes GNAR GNAR.

@hamncheez The vid of Jackson was shot on opening day this season. True Grit was not even built much less open. In fact nothing other than the trail that was shown was open during filming due to an epic ski season. Their best line is super fun and much bigger true but still not on par with A-line and Dirt Merchant as you say. If you think these suck so bad then go out and make your own videos and we will see how they come out. But in the meanwhile it sounds like you don't know shit and should probably shut the f*ck up.

Krash, yes I have been to JH, but I haven't shuttled anything. I don't have any want to shuttle when/if I drive to go to a resort. Not only do I not know any locals, I wouldn't put my truck through tramming. No need. The whole point is in going to a resort, and having everything you want there. Do you think most people drive up to whistler only to shuttle? No, they ride whistler. IE the whole point in a resort. If I'm going to do back country stuff, I'll stay local and do it here, or, if somewhere else, it will be for snowmobiling or dirtbiking.

Beer, chair lifts, and gnar is what most guys are about.

Go easy on the resort! Its a lot better than the vid suggests, and they are just getting started. I bet in 5 years it will absolutely rock. Its hard to convince a resort to invest a lot in dh riding in the summer. the places are empty and I don't know how they can even make any money. They have to increase their liability with very little revenue increases, then there's trail maintenance, etc. And psmith guy, look at the highest rated comments. They agree with me. The difference between them and me is that I've ridden the trails, and I know how awesome they are. The videos are the same few riding spots repeated way too much when there is so much good stuff around to ride.

Hi rffr. You probably can't shuttle anything because your Mom's minivan doesn't have enough power to get you to the top. Yes, anyone who knows what's up shuttles Pemberton and Squamish on their Whistler trip. Even Whistler bike park has it's limits and if you want the real gnar than you have to get into the "backcountry" or I'd say "go mountain biking". JHMR is many years from being really good, but when you combine it with Jackson Hole's AM trails and Teton Pass 55MPH highway shuttle we've got it pretty good. The only place that arguable has it better is the Northwest, but unless you live there you probably have no grounds to talk smack. GO BUILD TRAILS AND RIDE YOUR BIKE

And man stuff? What shuttling? At 400$ a tire, replacing them twice a year due to shuttling and road trips is a no go for me. I'd rather just offroad/4 wheel my truck, and save the riding for local shuttles, or, if going far, go to a resort and ride there. Which is why it would be nice to see a truly beautiful place like JH offer some real gnar stuff. Vail is probably the closest to JH and offers much more, but, JH has such a cool community, some really decent bars and people, that it would be nice to have something there also.

I wish resorts would just look at what whistler is doing and imitate it. Northstar tried, and did well, but well, it's north star. They only have uber steep stuff for winter sports (the top of the mtn, but to the right side of the resort is good, but takes quite a bit of walking to get across the ridge to the massive crescent run.

Exactly Orsumness. It's never about hurting the riding spot or in this case a Resort, it's all about people collectively adding their opinions no matter what the negativity or positivity is about.

I'm guessing their management does read this, so, in which case, it's always good for them to find both good and bad comments/opinions. They can only grow and get better, so, there isn't really anything bad that can come out of a discussion. Heck, maybe in the next year or two they will come out with an absolutely gnar kill type DH run (World Cup quality in terms of gnar), and it would open up more than a few doors. Perhaps being able to hold a DH series, or, best yet, if it's gnar enough, maybe it might even get an international race held there, which would be just about the best thing any resort could ever hope for.
