Kate Courtney is Leaving Scott-SRAM MTB Racing After 6 Years
I got to watch her race in WCCC back when I was in college. IIRC, she lapped the entire field on a 4 lap XC race. She was in a completely different league than anyone else on the course. Hope she finds her form again and starts taking more WC wins!

First Look: Outlier's Unusual Axle-Free Pedal Designs
This seems like a great application for tapered roller bearings. That's what I'm assuming they are using based on the tidbit about preloading the bearings. In theory, these could work very well. All car wheel bearings work the same way and handle the large moment created by the leverage for hundreds of thousands of miles.

University Student Breaks Everesting Record on a Unicycle
I have a unicycle that I occasionally ride and can confirm that the groin pain is very real. I should experiment with more seats, but the ones I have tried makes my whole groin go numb with pain after about 45 minutes of riding. I can't imagine 20+ hours.

Review: 6 Flat Pedal Shoes Ridden & Rated
Which 5.10 model did you have trouble with delamination? I'm only on my third pair of freeriders in about 12 years. The only reason I've purchased new ones is the pedal pins eventually wear holes into the sole and lose some traction but I never have had a sole peel off (unlike the bazillion pairs of skate shoes I rode with growing up). Granted, I pretty much always ride in dry conditions so maybe it could be moisture causing the issue for you.

Shimano Offers 'Race-Specific' Firmware For EP801 Motors (Updated)
@traildamo: it certainly is. However, I still believe that the motor should only be putting out power when I'm pressing on the pedals. I grew up riding moto more than MTB and something like over run doesn't make any sense to me. It would be like purposefully making a motorcycle with a sticky throttle cable where it keeps going for a second after rolling of the throttle. Very counter intuitive to me

Shimano Offers 'Race-Specific' Firmware For EP801 Motors (Updated)
The only e bike I've ridden was my friend's Levo and I completely agree with the overrun complaint. I almost looped out several times on moderately technical climbs popping the front tire over rocks/roots and trying to ride wheelies in the balance point is absolutely terrifying since it keeps going after you stop pedaling. Probably the biggest reason I haven't considered buying an e bike.

Bike Check: Jack Moir's Steering Damper Equipped YT Capra - Finale Ligure EDR World Cup 2024
Can someone explain the handguards for me? I come from a moto background and those types of handguards (which don't wrap around to the bar end like barkbusters) are only good for protecting against roost and do squat for protecting your fingers from getting crushed if you smack a tree. The other riders I've seen that run the bar ends with the little protective bar that gives your pinky some protection from grazing a tree make a lot of sense to me, but not these

Chris King Introduces Generation 4 Hub System
I have 11 years of use and abuse on my Hope Pro 2 evos with no failures. I replaced the pawls and bearings for the first time last year but don't think they even really needed it. I don't ride in wet conditions though, so all my bearings seem to last forever
