A bit of shaky footage is doing you in?

Are you sure you ride Downhill?

 Didn't look bad to me

 seasickness.... !!
  • 4 1
Nice trail but not the best position for the camera..
  • 3 0
Why they do keep using potatoes for pov footage.

Pointless video. Put it on your head or chest. At least it's watchable then.

 +1

Also seems to be edited and jumps a lot? Needs some lessons from Claudio on how to do a course preview properly!

I'm assuming the terrible footage is due to the 'no wearable cameras' rule?
  • 6 1
Yes, that ruling is still in effect, cameras have to be mounted to the bike and cannot be mounted to the rider or their protection equipment.
  • 3 1
I thought a camera could be mounted to the peak of a helmet now?
  • 3 1
Had to stop watching after 1:06 as the camera being bike mounted really was giving me a headache

Maybe I better go to Dr's
  • 2 0
The ruling is only for actual race runs though. And clearly a lot were using cameras on their helmets the last couple of world cup rounds and the world champs as well.
  • 1 0
The BCF rules are different from the UCI rules . BCF say you can only mount camera equipment on the bike . NO helmet or chest mounted cameras at any time , and no cameras on race day . There are mounts you can buy that auto stabilise cameras or you can make your own dampener using old inner tubes .

Not sure why everyone is going on about terrible footage... Thought it was pretty damn good and smooth all considering

 I've been to Antur Stiniog

I've wanted to ride their for ages now but only 5 trails and £30 uplift only means we always head to bpw. Would you recommend it @jaame?
  • 4 0
Stiniog is great fun, plenty of riding to keep you entertained and the uplift is really quick, now you could make a weekend of it and go to surf snowdonia as well! @ThomDawson
  • 3 0
It's a great place. A lot more fun than bpw, for big bikes anyway. And the uplift is super quick.

Stiniog is on another level to BPW - its DH rather than trail. The whole thing is one bing rock garden. Especially the double black...

broke my arm here 6 weeks ago. Apart from that it's fun to ride! definitely different from a lot of other places. really open and just rock city but it's good to mix it up from the wooded stuff.
  • 2 0
You can do a half day for £15, which gives you time for about 7-8 runs and that is plenty if you're on a trail bike!

@ThomDawson Antur is a whole different ball game to BPW. Number of trails is fairly irrelevant as to whether you will like it as much. There is plenty there to keep you entertained for 15 uplifts. I only have an AM bike though and its one of the two places that I have felt under biked, Gawton being the other (Im sure there are probably more that Ive not been to yet, revolution perhaps). Still really enjoyed Antur both times but it does wreck AM bikes!

@ThomDawson antur stiniog makes bike park wales look shit. when you go to a bike park with uplift you should be guaranteed fun and downhill riding right? at BPW you have to push up to get to get to the uplift wtf is that about. they dont know how to build trails either, it's probs the dirt they have there but there are breaking bumps on all the best bits, barely any jumps (apart from on 1 trail which gets a bit repetitive). I would really like to see signs for gaps and big drops like they have in france aswell.

Revolution is the best place I've ridden in the UK, Antur & revs make a great weekender, not far apart, completely different & both proper DH. BPW is for dentists on AM bikes, I find it really frustrating.
  • 1 0
I liked it a lot, but it is rocky as shit and my arms were done by lunch. Next time I'll only do half a day unless I have a downhill bike. You take a beating on the am bike. Uplift is awesome though. Cafe is too. Good food, good prices.

"This where you come in to the rocks now"
Didn't bloody come out of them until the finish line!!!!!
Sick riding
  • 3 1
Antur is whole different ball game compared to BPW.. Not really comparable at all!
  • 2 1
Anyone else think doing this on the red and bottom black section would have made this so much more interesting?
  • 3 1
Wait? Kye Forte as in, pro BMX legend Kye Forte?
  • 2 0
 Yes, that Kye Forte
  • 2 0
 that didn't help my hangover
  • 2 1
Looks like broken Side walks every where! Going to be flying for sure.
  • 3 1
 "AKWARD"

that is all
  • 2 1
Antur better than BPW. Proper downhill and a rockfest!
  • 3 2
That POV angle made me want to vomit all over my computer.
  • 2 1
Footage didn't bother me other than the editing of it was annoying.
  • 1 0
Gee Atherton is KoM on Stiniog's Double Black. Says it all :-)
  • 2 4
