[UPDATED] Final Results & Overall Standings from the Combloux Enduro World Cup 2024
Men's top 3 seperated by something like 0.2% of overall time. Bonkers. Now, let's talk marginal gains...

Video: Rider Press Conference from the Fort William DH World Cup 2024
Props to organisers for getting this right. In a big part to choosing to put those particular 5 athletes in front of the camera. If the sport is to mature, this is the tone that needs to be struck for sure. Don't get me wrong, I love the rough edits and madness/swearing of other content providers, but that by its nature, cant succeed mainstream.

It Looks Like 'Snow Biking' Could Earn a Rainbow Jersey & UCI Ranking Points in 2024
Suspect partly down to to snow bike easier to put on television live. Imagine if it was a red bull/Warner snow bike race series.

What Type of eMTB Should You Buy in 2023?
Can't help feeling ebikes change the culture of our sport and regular riders feel something in the comradery and support riders have for each other is lost. Before, it took time to gain experience/fitness to take you places, now anyone can access the trails with ease, oblivious to fact that before ebikes came along we had to really work hard to be part of the sport. Not to mention hand cut volunteer built trails - I find ebikers especially are ignorant to the system, not even giving a second's thought to where they come from. Not surprising perhaps, as they are new into the sport. Having said all that, I have a (low power) ebike which I bought last year for health issues. I also have friends with ebikes. Walking contradiction that I am.

Podcast: Chris Ball Talks Discovery, ESO and the Future of World Cup Racing
Reading some of these comments reminds me of the sentiment I read recently on a comments section of a windfarm planning application - people forming opinions based on the unknown. I've been biking over 3 decades and the sport hasn't massively progressed. Much as I'd like it to remain the unknown cool wee sport, another part of me feels it deserves so much more. Can but try.

Scottish XC Champion Rab Wardell Dies of Heart Attack at 37
Though I didn't know him personally, I know a few that did, and this hits hard. He'll be missed by all who know him, and many who never even met him, myself included. Ride in peace Rab.

Pro Stage Results from EWS Petzen-Jamnica 2022
Hardly fair to compare with DH - for starters, EWS stages are in remote areas, often not within mobile reception. There are over a dozen stages to organise, and that's just talking about the timing. EWS events are often run at venues not visited regularly. All of this means there is a lot to learn by local race organisers and EWS alike. If it was perfect, it wouldn't be pushing boundaries.
