First Ride: The Velduro Rogue R is an Avinox-Powered DH Fiend
Why is everyone so bitter about 4 guys trying to make an eBike? Sounds like a fun project to me.

2025 Pinkbike Awards: Product of the Year Nominees
Seems like the product of the year should be the 6D helmet. If it saves your brain (as it did mine) so you can ride another day, it seems far more important and valuable than the other products which basically amount to ‘upgrades’. (Also, their customer service was awesome … and that in itself is an innovative product these days)

Tenet Components Releases New Osiris Clipless Pedal
I've been riding the Occult pedals for years and love 'em. Due to pilot error, I've bent the spindle on mine twice -- and both times I sent them back to Tenet and they've repaired them quickly and cheaply. They even spruced them up with fresh pins. I appreciate that they can be serviced and I can keep them in use for such a long time. I just got a new bike so am about to order another set.

Matt Beer's 15 Tips for Mountain Biking in Wet & Cold Weather
Two of my best pieces of winter gear are both from the surf world: A changing poncho and a waterproof changing mat. (Both are inexpensive) Put on the poncho, stand on the mat then peel your muddy gear off (including shoes) right into the mat -- which is waterproof and has drawstrings. All the wet/muddy stuff is contained and it goes straight to the laundry room when I get home. Also, the poncho has a hood, so when I pull that up, I look like a cult leader. King of the trailhead.

Inside the Lab: The Technology Behind the Fox Rampage RS Helmet
I had a pretty bad OTB crash in July while wearing the 6D Alterra, I smacked my head really hard and while my body was pretty mangled, I didn’t have any negative effects to my head. I sent the helmet back to 6D for evaluation for a possible rebuild (they can rebuild certain helmets). A guy from 6D called me and explained why it wasn’t rebuildable (smashed outer shell) but did offer me a nice discount on a replacement, which I ordered immediately. Great tech, comfortable helmet and excellent customer service. I just ordered their half-shell trail helmet yesterday. Interesting interview about the tech in the helmet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5tbXYPBdnk

Review: Amflow PL Carbon Pro eMTB - Blitzing Trails & Bending Rules
@Bro-LanDog: Here’s a guy here in Seattle doing 1000w for 1 minute. I don’t care what you think about eBikes, but it's a reference point for human power in terms of watts. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIJp59MJwqc/?igsh=MXB2NnU1dGpqZmM1aw==

Movies For Your Monday - Jackson Goldstone, Reece Wallace, Casey Brown, Dennis Ranalter, & More
Cool videos this week, but for me the standout is the one about the artists who painted the Obama portraits. Really interesting and beautifully done. It’s a nice, unexpected find on this page. Thx!
