Poll: Would You Choose Custom Geometry If You Could?
I've built a bunch of frames for mostly myself. I definitely prefer designing/building hardtails (and it's been an iterative process!), but full suspension bikes... nah. Give me 4 models that will hold up and are good-ish and i'd rather pick between them. There isn't a raft of institutional knowledge for a designer to use, the interaction with evolving shock tech makes it hard, and i don't wanna have a compromised FS bike even if it's great at 1 thing. Modern suspension bikes are amazing.

What you don't see is that the cyclist is suspended by wires.

@RonSauce: Your speculation is more real than my firsthand experience? Weird flex but ok.

Comparing Anne Terpstra & Nadine Rieder's Ghost Lector FS Race Bikes - Albstadt XC World Cup 2021
@skilots: It has happened to me! I slipped a pedal on a landing and stuffed my back foot in to the wheel. Broke something ridiculous like 10 spokes. Shit hurt. My buddy had an off and wedged his leg between the fork and front wheel. We had to just rip it out because the tension on the axle made it so we couldn't remove it. He was hobbling around for a couple days. Either of those wrecks coulda been pretty nasty with these wheels.

Video: Knolly Announces 2020 Warden
@getsomesy: i didn't say they did. But it doesn't matter. They're one of the few brands that ignored 148 when it was stupid and fashionable, and i admire them fore that.

Video: Knolly Announces 2020 Warden
@getsomesy: Knolly (and pivot) looked at the standards that already existed, and used 2 already existing standards to create something better than what was previously available. It's the best kind of progress, and they absolutely deserve credit for ignoring the wave of Trek's 148 stupidity to push this. This is the sort of iterative innovation that's good for us riders. Chill.

First Look: Taking e*thirteen's New Vario Dropper Post Apart
It's super strange how shitty posts dominate the market. The original dropper is Gravity Dropper. They're absolutely bombproof, and can be overhauled in a hotel room in 30 minutes while drunk. (ask my how i know) They're ugly, unintuitive, and clunky though. It's like the ultimate example of how UI, ergonomics, hype, and salesmanship trumps function.
