Field Test: 2021 Commencal Meta Power - The Aluminum Sledge Hammer
@chakaping: I’d suggest you give it a try instead of just striking it off your list based on this review. I‘ve ridden bikes with a similar progressive leverage ratio and once you ride them a little deeper in the sag they become alive quickly. In return you are rewarded with a super active suspension deeper in the travel. There is always pros and cons in suspension design.

Field Test: 2021 Commencal Meta Power - The Aluminum Sledge Hammer
@chakaping: „more fun“ is probably to most subjective metric there is for judging a bike. This field test really felt like the testers had a bias towards certain brands as also pointed out by others in the comments. That really made me lose a lot of respect for the crew. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t plan on buying a Capra or any other YT bike. I’d much rather have the Transition, but still this was rather unprofessional

Video: Arrival vs Range vs Force vs Spire vs Capra - Field Test Roundtable
The Capra test is a joke. Comes out as the most nimble and agile, one of the most pedal friendly, best specced yet cheapest and fastest bike of the bunch. Still loses the test because the suspension "felt a bit harsh".

Field Test: 2022 We Are One Arrival - Efficient & Effective
Honest question: do you guys think this bike looks good esthetically? I want to like the way it looks but somehow the rear end just looks cluttered to me. The Transition is probably the cleanest looking bike of the bunch.

Field Test: 2022 GT Force Carbon - Longer, Lower, Idler
@wenedi: I‘m sure the Capra is not breaking more or less often than other carbon frames. After all most of the frames for different bike manufacturers are coming from the same factories, so there cannot be too much of a quality difference. It’s just that there are so many Capras out there that in total there will be more broken frames as well. What I do think however is that people are especially voiceful about YT bike issues because the warranty process seems to have been painful for many

Field Test: 2022 GT Force Carbon - Longer, Lower, Idler
@islandforlife: Never heard of any carbon Capra breaking. For all I know the constant issue has been the chain stays on the aluminum versions which are a much less common choice for that bike

Field Test: 2022 GT Force Carbon - Longer, Lower, Idler
This field test is reinforcing my view that an idler and high pivot design is overkill on an enduro bike. Maybe this design is helping you to win a downhill wc race by hundreds of a second. But on an enduro and especially on a consumer enduro it’s just nonsense
