Burke Mtn - Foggy DH
We spent the day with photographer Bryce Piwek out in Coquitlam and were overwhelmed with dense fog constantly rolling in. It resulted in some pretty interested film conditions... http://www.facebook.com/brockandersonmedia

I'm not just gonna blast out that this was shit, because I hate it when folks do that. But its definitely missing something - I don't feel like riding right now and if I'd just watched a good edit, I would. All just feels a bit flat.

The scenery was pretty amazing and those roots looked slick. Probably quite hard to go much faster than they were. Good video nonetheless.

I'm not sure about this, I reckon there waqs too much slowmo and when there was slowmo it wasn't slowed down enough, kinda hard to tell if its slowmo or if they were just riding slow sometimes.

This isn't completely directed at your comments, but it is very upsetting to see how disrespectful some of pinkbike is to it's fellow riders and film makers. First off, are you blind to see that this isn't a World Cup track? Of course they aren't going to be going a million miles an hour. It's difficult to get a pace going on non vert loam. Did you ever think, that these riders themselves may be on pinkbike, and read these comments? How do you think they would feel, logging into pinkbike to be incredibly stoked that they made VOD, only to read the comments and be bashed that they suck and didn't deserve VOD. Use your brains.
I thought it was sick. Super loamy shore vibe to it. I'd love to shoot with ya soon Brock!

totally agree with you!! this is an amateur movie, not "3 minutes gaps" or "follow me", i found that was a great edit with good riding!! nice vid guys

i agree too, good movie and the spot is def not a spot to go very fast in my opinion, i really like this edit!! gj guys

Coca says it best. This track is amazing such a fun ride, but it is not a world cup track. It is a very short track with quite a few flat spots taking away all your speed and not 1 steep section. Im not going to argue about how fast Me and Nick are because I know how fast we are and its not up to me to prove it to you guys.

haters gunna hate......anyone who can ride a MTB bike can see how much you guys needed to carry your speed through that terrain....not always easy with wet roots.....nothing radical but nice work anyway and keep at it with the vids

I personally loved this, that type of dirt/environment are what i dream about for riding. Also, @coca you can't get too hypersensitive about pinkbike film critiques or riding critiques, they've always been here and they always will be. As gnarbar said, haters gonna hate

well i gotta agree with coca people should have more respect for fellow riders hell there was a vod the other week which was basically all about coffee :S and i thought it was pretty good.. lol anyway vods don't have to be all about people going all out when they're riding and for an amateur vid i thought it was well made and had a good music choice to it.
and for the record if people posted world cup dh vids every day the dh scene would gradually get boring i prefer dh and fr vids to bmx and dj vids but its nice to keep things mixed so the MTB scene as a whole keeps staying sick.
anyway sick vid Brock definitely VOD worthy regardless of what some of these crackers say

@coca & @e-walk, what thefallguy said never was amongst the lines of oh, these riders arent good enough, or oh they need to ride like world cup racers. All he said was he felt like something was missing. And that it didnt make him feel like riding.
I understand what he is saying, it was a fantastic place to film, and the filming was excellent along with two talented riders, just the flow seemed a little off at certain moments. Still a fantastic edit, as we can see it made video fo the day. I think a bit of that has to do with what @Barnseyhcxc said, "I reckon there way too much slowmo" I agree and disagree with that. I personally love slowmotion shots, Some of them turned out really well in this edit, it just felt a few of them were a little two in-between slow, and normal making it feel a little different that what we are used to seeing. Still a great video. Well done brock!

Coca, I have to say that if you rode this trail, you would be flying because I can keep a pretty good pace on it and I'm not exactly the fastest guy out there, however I have ridden this trail enough to keep up to some buddies that place top 15 in BC cup, but only on this trail haha
- - 1
I'm not doubting that, I'm just saying that this trail is faster than this video makes it seem, the average run only lasts about a minute and a half at the most

It's called video of the day not fastest possible lap of the day. I personally think the filming editing and ridding was all top notch, maybe it wasn't the fast lap ever but whatever. I think vods should be more about the video. I think they looked pretty fast. Good edit Brock

Obviously the people dissing this vid have never made, nor been involved in making an edit.
Stunning location, clever camera work, and taking into consideration the terrain and conditions the riding was pretty f'n good, and you can't please everyones musical taste.
Nice work.

I agree. This may not be an amazing expensive production, but they had great filming, great editing and an all-around great feel. I am always stoked to see some friends put a nice production together like this. THIS is the type of stuff that really makes me wanna head out and ride with some friends!
I hope you guys keep it up, because I would love to see more!

sorry TheFallguy, but " I don't feel like riding right now and if I'd just watched a good edit, I would " Makes you sound like a big baby. If you dont feel like riding after watching this one, watch a different Vid that does, and then go riding.. pretty simple, these VOD's arent to satisfy your needs. Good ol' Burke, im working up there every week, once the bikes ready to go Im hikin on up after work, boo ya!

Look people, it's all subjective. Like it, don't like it, or maybe rate it somewhere else on the continuum of appeal. It's fine to say weather or not you liked it and maybe add some constructive criticism, but everyone MUST understand it's subjective (only personal opinions, there isn't an objective measurement of these types of things) and saying nasty things shows your ignorant. So unless we are going to get together and collectively agree on a way to measure the quality of the video, your nastyness is just subjective jargon. Personally, I liked it - I wouldn't say it's my favorite or even close to, but, I think it was good.

Spooky kind of feel . love all the muck spraying and the dive and flow that is achieved.
Now burke is not very fun to ride so go somewhere else to shred ,and let me ride it .
Im sure you all can find better dh in the valley , So posers go someplace else you do not deserve
to be rewarded with such bliss.

i ride with eric, hes a great rider (better then me) and most of the people saying that he was going "slow" or "not fast enough" shouldn't be saying that. It's not right and if you don't know the trail or haven't ridden it, shouldn't be saying anything but "sick riding."
Sick riding Eric and Nick!

Main problem was that usually slow-mo is used to compliment how fast riders are going at normal velocity but because it was slower riding and a medium level of slow-mo it didn't really work. Still the filming was good and those roots looked pretty damn wet so them going slower is understandable...

the only reason i didn't like the song is because it reminded me of Mirrors Edge, which is sooo borringly shit it allmost killed me! The video was mint though with the volume down.
- + 3
I thought Mirrors Edge was a sick game. seeing how long you could keep the flow going for and jumping over/off stuff and kicking a PK in the head. good times, sick video.

That was a nice edit. Was wondering what camera you used and what editing software. Did you use colorizing software to get the greens so bright?
- + 1
yeah hoping too, waiting for optimum greenery! popped the hips cherry the other day. mmmm mmmm mmmm is all I can say.
- + 1
It looks so sick! Can't wait to see that edit. I remember before you couldn't even role into it haha ya you did!
- + 1
dude you have to craaank into it. I was sucking up and pedaling my ass off into the jump before it. I can't wait till it's dry and hardens so I can hit the actual berm line on the lip

ill have to try it sometime when its running! haha I just saw it didnt check if it was still soft. Ya man looks like lots of fun! did anyone hit it yet?
