That was so good to watch Josh . I have ran over plenty of snakes , literally ran over a dingo and had a pig back track towards me after riding past it . But I have never seen a Cas on the trail. I was at a wild life park on Tuesday with my sin and they had two. Said they are the most deadly bird on earth . Not sure if we have them here . I loved every minute of that ride . Everything you said made sense and I hope folks from other countries got the picture of how amazing north QLD is and how good it is to just hop on a bike and see what's out there. Happy straya day bloke

Cheers bloke! I just watched your vid mate, well done! Great way to close that scary chapter.. just a bump in the road mate!

@buspilot: you know I think that was what I just did without knowing it. It took me a while to finish this vid. It's like I was not ready to close it . But now I've done it I feel I've closed that door.
Back to your vid.... Of all the things to run into a pig is what shakes me up .

Did you score a drone. Im testing a cheap model. I truly enjoy your formula of narrating while riding. Very entertaining. 7 foot snakes birds that can maim a man. Ill stick to steep nasty drops and blind hucks much safer hahahahaahahahaa.

Yes, a dji spark..fits in the camelback. Drops and hucks for the win!

 That was super fun buddy!
I love all the commentary as you flowed up and down this trail.
The drone shots are great, you can have some fun with that.
Thank you for the great video and showing us progress with RideOn, its awesome to see and hear!

RideOn buddy! Big Grin

Cheers buddy. The drone is fun when all the technology works! Talking to the camera is great for pulling ideas out of my head and bringing them into the world..just at risk of seeming a little batty!

Prehistoric ride, haha. Crazy snake story, gotta stick with a local one way or another if your headed out for an adventure like that I'd say. Someday...got quite a few buddies over there beggin me to come over.

@buspilot: I hear ya, brother. Riding is my health plan, therapy space, spiritual realm, and social network. I've worked through a lot of issues out there on the trails.

hey guys hop ya don't mind me jumping in here. I've recently had a huge health scare . I kept asking my doc when I could ride as part of the healing process . Luckily he is a MTB geek and understood . The psychological hit I've taken is massive and was prescribed heavy meds but I never took one dose. I just rode my bike ( very slowly lol) , watched PB vids , serviced my bike and planned rides like this. I swear it got me through. My family and friends were great and all knew that riding would help me so they all encouraged me to ride . I seriously don't know where I would be without a bike .

@samjam: sorry to hear about the scare and hope your recovery process is a success. There is no doubt in my mind that riding has kept me on an even keel mentally and emotionally. There will always be a physical risk but we manage that through fitness, sound equipment choices and ongoing skill development.

Something similar happened to me and my mind went to dark places when my future ability to ride was threatened. I'm sure I won't know what your situation is but I can relate to a feeling of fear and sadness. Fortunately I was able to get to the other side relatively unscathed. Now I'm riding, skiing, snowboarding and even getting into boxing! I wouldn't have contemplated any of those things a year and a half ago.

I hope your journey leads you to health and happiness. Ride On (footnote to niko and Josh - lol)!

@conv3rt: hey bud. Physically I'm fine . Mentally I'm a little shaken but I'll be ok in time . The worst thing was not being able to ride . It is my cure for everything and everyone knows that . So I had to be patient and lay on lounge for three weeks . The demons got me hard but as soon as I went for a 5 km ride on a flat fire road fully kitted out lol I improved 50% . I got excited about life again and stopped thinking of being sick . Gotta love the PB community and MTB . Saved my arse this time . Hope you have recovered mate. It's always a shock to the system but I think this may be the best thing that has happened to me . I've changed in 8 weeks mate like I'm a new person
