bigquotesI hated every minute of training, but I said - Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.- Muhammad Ali

A wet foggy morning after a night of heavy rains left the freshly buffed track slick and roosty. As the day went on the sun decided to shine and dry up a bit.
Classic MSA mists hung thick in the air as riders were wiping the sleep out of their eyes this morning. What kind of state would they find the freshly buffed track in exactly?

The officials wouldn t let Danny run a minute ahead of the Group A training schedule...so he got itchy feet.

Into the void... Mitch Ropelato dropping in. Condtions were literally thick as pea soup on the top section of track. The motorway was riding by braille. It wasn t until riders got into the woods that they could actually see what they were hitting.

Minnaar off the rock lip. He's raced St Anne since day dot and has taken the second step here an astonishing 7 times.

Greg Williamson
Greg Williamson is yet to follow up his 10th at Fort Bill, but maybe MSA will also suit him well.

Rain over night. Freshly worked over track. Loamy woods. Yep it was a tear off kind of morning here at Mt St Anne.

Sik Mik
MSA isn't really Sik Mik's track, but he is fine form this season and has the stamina to tear Quebec a new one with luck on his side.

Ruts for ages after the rainstorm. Should be good once it hardens up in the sun.
You wouldn't call it hardpack... The woodland ruttage would surely bring a tear to the track builders' eyes.

Smith rolled in from timed training fastest today for what it s worth. He hasn t managed a podium since his silver at the 2010 champs however but is a dead cert for a solid run tomorrow.

Better not refer to the start as the 'iconic S'....Spec's lawyers are listening!
  • + 5
Would love to see Remi on top again, need some new blood on the podium!!!
  • + 7
^ Well, since he won last week can he still be considered "new blood"? It's awesome seeing new faces on the podium though Smile
  • + 3
Should they fear Oakley's lawyers as well?
  • + 4
Steve Smith is an absolute machine! Mont St Anne this week, Crankworks to follow. Probably the best time of the year for mountain bikes and spectators alike, so pumped for what is to come!

 i hope kobe bryant wins

I hope that a great white shark gets on the podium

It wouldn't be Mont. St. Anne if things didn't get a bit wet. ;-) Look at those ruts! Classic MSA action.... I'm going to make a special World Cup Desktop background just to honor this weekend and these wicked pics. I work on a computer all day, why not have rotating images of amazing action in front of me to prepare. Sunday, I await your arrival! Go Stevie Smith!

More pics of the female riders please!
  • + 78
That's not what he meant by wet you know.
  • + 8
@VTwintips I hope you get the appreciation you deserve!

Sam Hill said it best "should have brought my bmx bike for this track". We knock Sam likes it steep and rough. This track looks like something I rode back in 1993 on a Giant Iguana. Smoooth wide open fire roads are a WC track? They should have left the water damage, then it would be interesting at least. No surprise 90% of the riders not stocked on this boring track. Should have gone to Windham instead. Now you know MSA is grooming the runs too much. Throwback track 1990s hollar.
  • + 3
 @Bossman - -WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT U ON ABOUT !
  • - 7
I guess the truth hurts you guys. Violin playin just for you.
  • + 8
Except the truth is you're just plain wrong. Even a 'Tame' MSA is a legendary track leagues above windham (let's get real here). Just watch what happens come Sunday to that 'smooth' track. We're getting what we want.... the race is at St Anne. Don't violin's play for whiners anyhow?..... Wink

(I get windham is close to you. I'd be upset if my local WC was canceled too)
  • + 2
@Bossman Are you on crack? Have you not seen any of the helmet cams this track has some pretty sketchy rock sections that your hauling ass into.
  • + 2
@VTwintips, actually that's exactly the "in you endo" I was talking about....gotta throw in the subtle hints around this place when you can ;-)

  • + 1
I was just gunna ask that. Apparently he isn't racing but can't find out why?
  • + 10
Probably still on a bender with CG somewhere.
  • + 4
He's destroyed MSA so many times he just wants someone else to have a chance Razz
  • + 1
On Peaty's Facebook page he has said "I'm unfortunately not going to be at Mt St Anne this year."

Won't be a proper MSA race without him!
