Malcolm's first descent of the first ramp on Hellion at Highland Park (age: 4 years). Thanks everyone for your encouragement and comments. Malcolm lives in Maine. We ride often at Highland Mtn Bike Park enjoying not only the incredible trails, but also the supportive and friendly community and staff which Mark Hayes has created. Kudos to all of you there, and thanks for having us. Malcolm also participted in The Maine Youth Bike Race Seris (in Falmouth, ME) this past summer. It's another wonderful place for kids to get together to ride and have fun. Thanks to Andrew Freye for organizing this event.

Eh, there's one of these videos every couple of years. The kids get pushed into it by parents, then quit when they're old enough not to be bullied into things.
yea yesok....that kid sounded like he was hating it!!!!....you can really get a feel for it at the start of the video "dad, I LOVE THIS"......man, he sounded like he was hatin life just there!!!!
Think your wrong my son races bmx has done since he was 3 years old his just turned 5 he raced bmx world camps this year and his loads better then this kid, I would like it if he packed it in but he loves it to much and his in to mtb aswell. It is at the point were I have to stop riding to fund his riding
@dangggerboy. i rely dont think this is a contest to see who's kid is a better rider. its just about a young ripper having a good time. And thats pretty selfish for you to want your kid to stop riding so you could start up again? wtf is wrong with you.
@dangggerboy u cant really say your son is loads better thn this kid. u say he rced world cup..... and u post a video of him riding his first skinny????
Personally I would go all out for my son to do what he wants!! And if that means him loving something that much in order for me to stop doing what I love (riding my bike) due to fundings then so be it! But I would get another job just so we could spend that bit more farther son time together as I'm shure any normal farther would do excluding "dangggerboy" obviously!!! What sort of role model are you!!???
Man I have a 4 yr old who rides a bike on small downhill an at the skatepark and I didn't push him at all!! It's what he wants to do!! If he didn't I wouldn't make him.
I'm a little jealous cause his bike is nicer than mine.
But this also inspires me cause it makes me want to get my girlfriend pregnant...just imagining how fun it would be to train lil Protour....but I would have him clipped in of course.
what is a troll doing on this site - @yesok: you have a serious case of the "neggys' and need to grow a fun attitude ; i am in my 70th year and just returned from Whistler [ did Garbo all day long from Crank It Up and all the way down ] and i can tell you i KNOW what it that wee lad feels - at the end of the day i am 4 years old again, and you my sad brother are.........sad.
That's awesome, I get stoked seeing the older guys out there as much as the little guys.
I'm makin a baby tonight for sure. Might have to get the girlfriend drunk first, she always wants me to use protection.
@ stevieGx33: props to you and a piece of apple pie; it's amazing how many brainfarts miss the point - too busy looking for a downside to a great vid of a wee ripper.
MEH! average riding really. i'm faster and thats on a heavy bike with huge 26inch wheels and 8inches of speed sucking travel. you also got to consider im 33 years old , i'm not like the kid where he has no fear and just bounced right back after crashing. only thing i'll concede is that i would have stopped a few more times (to er?...er? to allow me to focus hard and get the most out of the next section...yeah thats it!!)... and also not made it as far across the jumps as he did.....but thats coz its faster to keep your wheels on the ground, not sure why he kept tweaking his bars everytime he got air, must be lack of control or something. and as for the running commentary, pah! thats a waste of oxygen, i certainly know that i dont' even waste oxygen for blinking as i need it all to keep the important balancing act on the bike happening. the kid wasnt even breathing hard,
having said all that this kid is the bomb. best video i have seen in years. do we have a new world champion in the making there? rad to the power of sick
Crikey, I could read it as a joke. He's stating the kid is awesome and how lame he is.
Wish my dad did this with me at this age, I might actually be good on a bike otherwise!
Keep up the shredding little dude.
what a brainfart you are forkbrayker - first you compare yourself to a 4 year old when i am CERTAIN at 4 all you did was shit your pants - the only waste here was you taking up space with your unbelievably dumb comments - the kid is 4 doofus ! and you are 33 going on stupid - oh, your just joking?! well too bad your funny is really a misplaced need to be the star here - sorry but the kid wins .
PS yesok, spelled: W-A-N-K-E-R ! and just for the record @mantasv : why is sarcasm a desirable thing to 'get' - life is difficult enough and when something as beautiful as this little ripper comes along there is always some doofus that thinks he is being cool and witty with sarcasm...this video is about the little guys time to shine, not some sarcastic bonehead
you would know ; and now, if you are over yourself as a witty limey maybe we can get back to the real issue here: an awesome video of a wee shredder...otherwise have the last say - and then, go away .
I know!! I think he's been getting out of the wrong side of the bed... Every day! He's just like a few other guys on here who likes to rant and have ago at people ALOT! just look on his profile, some comments are like he's writing a god damn novel!! He's a wanna be "protour" just let him carry on being, for a better word that he likes to use all the time..... A wanker!!
you can call me a wanker..coz i am.. i love doing it. all day every day, unless i get friction burns then its no fun! @ JCINKITS ... you kinda missed the point in my post and then somehow hit the nail on the head.... i did want to write something that made me look cool and be the star when evidently the kid is the star....and way cooler than i could ever hope to be....which is way cooler than you could ever imagine to be...but you probably realise that, tucked up in your pyjamas at home with your photos of bike DVDs and a cup of bovril helping produce some bright green bile to throw at a computer screen, knowing fine well that said plastic screen is protecting you from getting a beating from my huge wanking arms
Sometimes we let that kid in ourselves die, with all the bike weight saving, best time posting, shiniest newest kit, moaning about braking bumps and sticky suspension.
I like the bit about the drop, do the drop it's just like ours at home, Dad- it's a little bit higher, kid= yeah but it's fun dad trust me LOL look dad look you won't be afraid of doing that HAHAHA class yeah dad you whimp get off it nice one guys dad your awesome and your little man is wicked
This video is a welcome break from the Rampage onslaught of news. Just for reference this is way more interesting to me than pros hucking off stupid stuff in Utah.
The ankle-biter's commentary was hilarious. What a good show!
My wife and I were totally humbled by a few of these pint size speed demons on Silverstar this year. It is great to see their parents getting them out there. Keep it up!
Lets see more of this guy on pinkbike!
"hucking off stupid stuff in Utah"?? I have 2 five year olds and a three year old so this video hit home with me. It was actually one of the cutest videos I've ever seen. Ever. But why on Earth would you mock pros risking life and limb, performing some of the most amazing feats I've ever witnessed in Utah this week? You obviously weren't in Utah this last week. There was nothing stupid at the Rampage--except maybe the four mile commute to the site. I am amazed that you have any positive props.
To be clear. Not mocking the riders or their risk. They are in a stratosphere of skill I will never attain. That being said I am completely uninterested.
The other 99.5% of mountain bikers not at Rampage, having a good laugh on a cool trail is far more interesting to me.
Keep riding kid and that feeling will never go away. I just went to my first Rampage and was in awe of those guys, so I went across the valley and rode my own mini Rampage, I finally worked up the courage to hit a 15 foot or so drop. I just turned 38, but I can honestly say I felt just like this kid after I did it.
I can't wait to do this with mine. Bought him a Strider when he was 3 or 4 months old. He is almost a year now and almost about to walk, once that is figured out I have cleaned out a room in the basement for him to ride over the winter.
Great ride there kiddo !!! Dad and Son..... as it should be !!
Highland is an AWESOME place and this little guy is having more fun than most of us. I do have to admit that when I am there or anywhere for that matter, my little kid voice is yelling inside of me and my Dad is hovering over me and smiling from up above.
Keep up the great riding and more importantly, just enjoying each other !!
To all of those who had anything negative to say about this video, please leave pinkbike and join all of the haters on every other forum. This is one of the last sites where the majority of comments are positive, as they should be.
This video is amazing and I can't wait to get a good session on film like this with my son. So cool! Nothing feels better than sharing your passion with your son and seeing the excitement he gets from it. It's a good reminder of why we all ride bikes.
This kid is a Hero!!!! Makes me want to have a kid... How cool is that! The best part is him saying: Dad! look at the drop! You can't be afraid doing that... do it!!! Trust me it's fun!!! hahahahahahahahaha Mate my hat is off to you, you have the coolest kid in the world!
anybody else find themselves cheering him on? or coaching him as he came up to the jumps or going into corners? I was stoked for this kid. And his dad. That, my friends, is a bond that will last forever between these two.
and yeah " no, i don't need to pee " , killed me lmao
It is the greatest felling in the world to be able to ride with a child. I have the privilege of having a little ripper myself and there is nothing better than a day of killing it with him. Keep up the great riding little ripper dude. Keep it fun and fast.
I did it!.... Like the OLD guys.... wow.
It would be really interesting to see a video of him, once a year, so we may see how he evolves. I really enjoyed this one.
awesome vid ! makes me miss riding with my boys when they were little. now one is 21 and one is 18 and all they care about is cars and girls. maybe they will come back to bicycles like their dad did.
Talk about a little champion! Riding hellion at four years old is not something that is easy, let alone on a fully rigid bok with only a rear brake! If this kid keeps riding and keeps up his positive attitude, he will no doubt be a huge competitor in anything he wants to try, whether it be World Cup, jotride, or rampage. Props to this kid!
this kid is going to be amazing! growing up shredding the best trails on the east coast! watching thus reminds.me.of when I rode ff the top of that woddenramp at 5:15! wasn't fun!
How cool is this!!!Have taken my 4 yr olds stabilisers off ready for this weekend.Time to step up his game i think!!!This week the park next year the worlds!!Mmmaawwaaahahaha lmao!!!
After reading the comments I've never seen so many guys inspired to get their partners pregnant ASAP....or so many guys ready to remove the training wheels off the bikes of their unsuspecting children ...LMAO..love it :-)
I thought a cuddle at the end might have done the little lad a bit of good, bit of positive attention on the way tbh. No doubt he's a little ripper, but it looked a tad like he was chasing something...
Coolest video EVER! So awesome. That is the reason I want a kid! And to think he's doing all that on a tiny little BMX with one brake!! Just amazing, little dude's gonna rock it in 10 years or so..
thats awesome, one day when i start building my custom DH frames im going to make a 20 inch 180 mm travel frame ,this video got me stoked on the idea..so kool kids shreddin on the hardtail.
Love this video, makes me laugh everytime I watch it....everyone should be this happy on there bike! Cant wait to see what this kid can do in a few years.
This kid is the future of the MTB, or probably the future of the Downhill or Freeriding! Amazing kid, that's tha way if you want your kind not to take drugs or do stupid things. Cool
Sick! This is what being a parent is all about! I can't wait till the Rocket is following me around Cannock Chase and the Clent Hills..
Keep up the good work, you and your kid are enjoying life to the max..
"Do the drop Dad, you will love it, trust me!" The kids a true charger, see grooms like this surfing all the time, stoked to see it in mountain biking!
this is so sick! its so awesome seeing them do this and how they are so stoked about it! im sure this isnt the last we are going to see about this kid!
That was so awesome to see a kid his age riding there and especially with the confidence he has in a couple years he will be sending those table and doubles.
Love it everyone knows that that's the sound of all of our inner voices after we do something new on a bike "I did it hey I did it this is fun" nice job
Loved this vid! Hearing this kid's voice was so cute. He's has skills. Loved how he was watching out on merging trails. Can't wait to ride with my kid someday.
I thought the same first. But actually little man is like "Let's go" and "Yeah, buddy" at every stop.Really, it seems to be fine for him and that's all that counts.
Son= no i don't need to pee
Only on PB!

Video reminds me to let that kid out more often!
(Metaphorically speaking of course)
nice one guys dad your awesome and your little man is wicked
Annnd he's hooked.
and that sir was the beggining of me being hooked.Doesnt take much hey?
The other 99.5% of mountain bikers not at Rampage, having a good laugh on a cool trail is far more interesting to me.
