Nice of Ellsworth to bring their 2002 rig.

Truly cutting edge! Quite refreshing since everything looks like a Trek Session.
  • 150 11
That Ellsworth is probably the most ugly DH bike since the redalp was brought out.
  • 31 15
ive rode ellsworth...and as ugly as it is... that frame rides as good as my tr450..
  • 22 19
 I quite like it
  • 19 14
I love a company that will stand by a design, and a bike that looks indestructible.
  • 7 2
 Schwing!

It's so ugly that if it did lay eggs they would be unfertilized.
  • 24 4
It doesnt matter how ugly it is, if it rides great, then so be it. I'd rock a pink and baby blue bike if it performed better than any other bike id ever ridden

Bigturd, coming from someone that rides a Nukeproof, I wouldn't talk sh*t about Ellsworth
  • 38 8
 nukeproofs are sick, shut up

so are Ellsworths KID.. real tough 16 year old huh?
  • 10 2
Ellsworth dont change the swingarm due to the ICT suspension. I love the look of their bikes any way (the Epiphany is the best looking bike out there IMO, I love how machine like it looks if that makes sense) but surely they can modernise the look of the rear end and still keep the ICT system working. On a downhill rig the rear end just doest look good to me, looks very cumbersome.

rickyretardo, 1. you have a name which contains "retard", which probably means you have had a bad childhood. And 2. you drive a 29" id gtfo about anything that has to do with dh bikes...

flag rickyretardo (Apr 21, 2013 at 8:57) (Below Threshold)
Wrong I've been riding DH bikes since the 90's. I love all wheel sizes, especially the one your mom rides. Retard has to do with my twisted sense of humor not my childhood, try again JR.

Having owned an Ellsworth Dare ('03) with old old van shock, which rode amazingly, i'm going to say that one with a well set up CCDB will blow your mind. I think they look amazing, and they've not updated technology every couple of seasons because it works, and works damn well! just a shame the owner of ellsworth is supposed to be an idiot to work with.
  • 1 0
It honestly looks like a cross/ hybrid of an old stab primo and santa cruz v10 near the front of the top tube. What a disaster
  • 8 7
@ Rickyretardo: For someone who claims to have been riding DH bikes since "the 90's you sure haven't learned anything... As someone who's ACTUALLY been riding them that long let me teach you something: Ellsworth are overpriced, piss poor riding, hideous looking and shodilly made bikes AT BEST (yes, I owned one). Chris Ellsworth might just be (along with Chris Sugoi of Niner) one of the most pompous and delusional "bike makers" (and I use the term loosely) on the planet. His bikes are shit... they ride like shit... they're made like shit... end of story. Don't let the door hit'cha in the ass on the way out.

Tell us how ya really feel... :-)
And yea... it just looks... Confused

I would never buy one their ugly imo, But Medic you can go suck a fat one. Get off your high horse and stop putting down industry people that made it a lot father than you ever will/ did. Didn't realize you are the PB police, I could care less how you feel. I've owned more bikes than you could dream about in a year. I don't have to prove anything to some internet a$$ hole. and BTW it's TONY Ellsworth not CHRIS you idiot.
  • 6 0
People that swap bikes so many times in a year are usually the type who blame the bike for their own short fall in skills

flag rickyretardo (Apr 22, 2013 at 6:25) (Below Threshold)
Wow you can infer that by my post, your good. I get a new bike once a year, like most good riders do. Later A$$holes...

That's right Bigturd, the one and only

Someone should tell Ellsworth that the General Lee didn't have a speck of blue on it anywhere except for the Confederate flag on the roof... The lettering was black... and the color was Chrysler EV2 "Hemi Orange" not whatever puke gold-orange colored garbage that they got on sale is called. The Dukes may have been the inspiration but the result was a fail...

That Dark Horse DHR is gorgeous though!!
  • 5 3
 Subscribed. This gonna be good.
  • 2 2
 ditto. Big Grin
  • 19 5
that ellsworth has to be the most disgusting bike ive seen its going back in time to like the old konas absolutely gross Frown
i used to like their style and look.
  • 9 3
I guess then I'm to kinky minded for liking how ellsworths look. Frown
  • 8 2
like the huge leverage ratio of the arm thingy, it's like the old operator on steroids
  • 14 3
Color is the least of that bike's problems... You just know something went very, very wrong, when a Redalp starts to look sexy in comparison...
  • 12 4
that elseworth is so ugly, when they parked in the street the other day, the cops switched off the cctv cameras.
  • 3 2
That Elsworth is melting in the hot cali sun

Ellseworth; research fail. marketing fail. design fail. execution fail. sales fail. how much longer are these crappy companies going to carry on, operating on life support, limping along selling their dated junk. do they sell ANY bikes? MTB needs a cull of this crap, thin the herd a bit. terrible terrible dross

Day 4: GO TO THE MARZOCCHI BOOOTH!!!
  • 4 3
Yeah. Come on PB, stoke us with some Zocchi bling.
  • 20 1
 Demo Dave can't afford cranks...
  • 43 2
Probably because he spent all his cash on that cutting-edge rear shock.
  • 4 3
and he prefers to run only with magic link up his rear.
  • 1 0
maybe thats a new elastomer rear shock prototype
  • 4 0
new kona abra cadabra, equipped as standard with a man the fuck up and ride a hardtail rear shock...
  • 10 3
Any full sus bike that looks as it it comes pre fitted with a luggage rack does not belong in 2013... Sorry Ellsworth its a fact!!
  • 9 2
X-Fusion Metric...looks awesome, can't wait to see how it compares to the Vengeance.
  • 3 0
it looks like the guys at ellsworth have thought :
I know how about we make the front triangle really low so it has good standover
now add the rear
wait the rear triangle comes higher than the front
guys what should we do
I've got it lets weld on this bit of left over seat tube
just add this lovely orange and blue colour way
perfect.

Props to Answer for making us Scotsmen tartan bars!
  • 5 0
anyone else think the answer bars were covered in assorted christmas wrapping paper at first look?
  • 2 1
36inch,wheels just go and put penny farthing wheels on instead. So does that mean in ten years time 36 will be the next best thing? can this sport be dumbed down any further how about stabilizers or a side car for when the trail gets to much
  • 6 2
What about Manitou? Any new forks in the mid-range?! *please please please*
  • 3 2
Wd40 line of bike lubes etc is a scary proposition. Will people think that regular wd40 is alright too? If I were them I would have created a second sub company to stop the confusion. To those that don't know Regular wd40 is NOT an acceptable lube for chains or anything on your bike. The regular/traditional wd40 displaces moisture. So good for creaky door hinges like a gate for your lawn but should never ever, ever touch a bike. Ever not even for your chain. Maybe it's ok in a pinch untill you can put real lube on.
  • 3 0
I think wd40 is perfectly acceptable on a bike.... As a degreaser
  • 4 1
Scrolling down, I'm like, "Hey that Turner DHR looks sick!"...Continue scrolling to the One Ghost, "Dafuq is this?!"
  • 2 0
Having owned a musashi already I can tell you it's an awesome bike, built by a great guy.
  • 1 1
I don't understand the Johnny Cash reference? It's not even black.
  • 2 0
Ahhh hate to break it to you but it is black. Links are ano'd grey but its a black frame.
  • 1 1
One Ghost picture shouldn't come after DHR ..it should be after Elsworth, it'll look ok ...did I spelt wrong?
  • 12 0
Johnny Cash never accessorized with red or grey, if it ain't all black it's no resemblance to the man.
  • 1 0
 ^ exactly.
  • 2 0
Perhaps the red rims are being interpreted as rings of fire?
  • 4 0
5lbs Metric 160-180 lihter than the Vengence coil and air HLRs wow!

  • 1 0
 Congratulations, Shimano:

For taking what is across the board one awesome looking bike.....

And making it absolutely hideous. Almost makes me not want Zee, it's so ugly.
  • 3 2
What is with that WD-40 crap?! Now people will think they can use the original WD-40 as their chain lube or on anything!!!
  • 1 0
No news on GTs new DH prototype the team were running at combe syd, it looks just like that turner...
  • 1 0
You have he interview few posts down on the front page. Smile

  • 2 0
the 36" is the way of the future - we don't need the DH forks..
  • 3 1
 Cummon X-Fusion... Start selling it!
  • 2 0
Why go 29er when you can go 36er. It's the wave of the future in racing.
  • 1 0
wheres the custum paint job on the trek session?... eh project 1s idea is totally ripped off from klein....
  • 2 0
Probably because Trek owns Klein now.
  • 1 0
