For as long as he can remember, Jackson Goldstone has been riding bikes. Growing up in Squamish, BC, he has been exposed to some of North America’s best terrain and has been surrounded by many of the world’s greatest mountain bike athletes. Often known for his freeriding and freestyle capabilities, Jackson shifted gears and charged the Whistler Blackcomb Bike Park with UCI World Cup Champion, Oakley teammate and local BC resident Stevie Smith.

We all have our obsessions. For Jackson and Stevie, it’s riding bikes... any bike.

I love how humble Jackson Goldstone is. It's so easy for a kid that age (and that good) with the skills in any sport to become arrogant and egotistical but for him, the importance is clearly to have fun.

It's such a contrast of ideas with stevie saying he's the future of the sport whilst he shows his genuine passion and awe of Stevie's greatness. I love it.

Yet I feel old everytime I hear Stevie talking about todays kids... I always see him as the kid leaning on his bike at the calm lake and talking about his dream of becoming a world cup racer one day with only the help of his mum shuttling him up the whole day in those legendary woods...

 Best segment in Seasons IMO.

I was going to comment on the same thing. Good to see it and it will be awesome to see how these kids come up through the sport

Man Jackson's pretty cool but he does have a bit of cockiness when you ride with him, if your trying something he will do it perfectly and show you up and give you a little smile knowing hes better then you
  • 8 2
Steve Smith: "Hey Jackson, do you want to ride mountain bike as a career? Not having to work, just riding bikes".
  • 30 2
@biker3335 cockiness from him, or bitterness from you?
  • 4 1
@biker3335, he is just a kid, humbleness and cockiness are "principles" difficult to grasp at that age, specially at that age when self-confidence is priority.
  • 2 0
Is he riding a 24"? Surprised a kid's bike can shred like that. I would have been on some death trap from Canadian Tire at his age.
  • 8 0
WT F DID HE JUMP THE BIG JUMPS IN WHISTLER!!!!! xD holy shit bucket Awesome edit!!!!
is it only me that feels bad about my riding after watching this!? xD
  • 3 0
 @dangerousdave Jackson's riding a Norco Fluid 24" in the video - www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/trail/fluid-24/fluid-42

  • 6 1
 Second that
  • 65 2
I remember sending A-line when I was 11. I was doing a run with Greg Minnaar, and we did that and then the next run we did Schleyer, and, wait, what's that? I can't do those now? I've never been to Whistler? I didn't know who Greg Minnaar was when I was 11? Oh, I'm a little behind.
  • 61 3
Did I just watch an 11 year old clear the jumps of Crabapple Hits?
Well f#ck this, I'm selling my bike. I'm done.
  • 19 0
I hate how good kids are these days. I'll be honest, I'm jealous.
  • 14 0
I guess clearing the jumps of Crabapple Hits at age 11 seems pretty reasonable if he is to beat the record of youngest Whip Off champ holding by 14-Year-Old Finn Iles... @@
  • 3 0
Finn is stylish downhill racer now .... wondering what direction will take Jackson because at this moment he is able to do anything from dirt jumping through slopestyle to downhill
  • 2 1
i think he will be a freerider
  • 1 2
 On a hardtail!
  • 46 4
More of this please. Inspiring youth with an inspiring legend.
  • 10 3
Why are you getting down voted?
  • 21 2
because of the peevish poopy faces that infect this planet
  • 12 1
because everyone, including me, are jealous of how fast Jackson is.
  • 2 0
haha im stuck in africa where and we have no crabapple hits
  • 33 0
My buddy took a very, very nasty crash overshooting a jump on the first weekend of the season. Jackson rode up and was super nice, making sure he was ok and everything. Once I had confirmed my buddy was fine, Jackson pedaled into the next jump, tossed a little whip, and was off. Really humble, nice little dude despite the interwebz fame.
  • 23 2
Replace "riding bikes" with "smoking crack" throughout this video and pretend that is what they are talking about. Really funny.
  • 2 0
 funny man ,funny
  • 14 2
What he said right at the end is so true, and its so sick that an 11 year old boy can state it so clearly. Our love is for bikes, and as long as we are in the woods, and on any bike, we should be having a good time. what a boss!!
  • 4 0
 Word brother!!
  • 14 2
Jackson is one of those riders that when you see him in a video he looks fast.... Then you see him flying down whistler while you are on the chairlift and you just laugh because you are blown away by how fast he really goes haha.
  • 10 1
Well.....I'd have to say Jackson's smooth and fast as well!
But...that's just me.
Smile
  • 9 1
Jackson will be unstoppable in a few years if he trains with stevie!! (well he's unstoppable already really....)
  • 4 0
Good riddance for this kid, its great to see something like this. I'm just in awe how much better he is than me. If he passed me on the trail I would have to head to the bar, at least I know he can't beat me in there!
  • 10 3
Kid doesn't even know what fear is
  • 3 0
This comment is why I wish I would have started biking at a younger age! Fear holds you back when you have a family to support but getting over fear and sending it is how you can progress faster..
  • 6 0
Devinci needs to build that kid a little carbon bike with more travel and sign him to the team.
  • 6 1
Jackson will be the Kelly Slater of mountain biking....The kid is ripping...
  • 1 0
Watching, and supporting youth riders is super fun. This type of talent is more commonplace than you might expect. The 0-14 riders are elevating the game...including many 11 year olds (or younger) in the U.S. This is relatively normal these days.
  • 4 0
When is the last time Oakley did a MTB spot? glad to see them back, hopefully they offer some MTB gear in the spring again
  • 2 0
11 years old and not only significantly more skilled and more ballsy than me but also down to earth despite getting constant praise and getting to ride with the world's top riders. What a prick. (I am not jealous...at all)
  • 3 0
Kyle Strait was one of the youngest kids to compete at rampage. Only a matter of time before we see Jackson competing on that stage.
  • 1 1
rampage was different back then tho...
  • 2 0
Seems like I was just watching vids and reading news about a young phenom named Geoff Gulevich. I must be having fun because the years are flying by!
  • 3 0
i remember watchinh him in the first few north shore vids, thinking this kid isnt much better than me Id hit that and then going to fromme seeing the stunts in person and just laughing " ok this kid has some skill" and look at him now...... props to gully and props to young jackson keep shredding!!
  • 1 0
love seeing this. cant wait to ride with my newborn son! haha oh to be 11 years old with the bikes we have now.... my bmx bike weighed more than my endure bike does now, but I still rode the crap out of it
  • 8 3
 That's it. I quit.
  • 4 1
You guys have no idea how much worse this makes me feel about my own riding!! Rock on Jackson!!
  • 4 0
He was hound dogging Stevie Smith.....WTF!!!
  • 1 0
Like to see him hit some choppy ass rocky terrain. Speed and style come with repetition, especially on flowy groomed trails. I want to see him pick his way down some lower speed techy trails.
  • 1 0
"Being in the air pretty much like freedom..., It's always fun to be on a bike" said and understood by a 11 year old kid. Amen to that!
  • 1 0
"Steve Smith is so fast and smooth"

He says whilst GLUED to his rear tire.

I can guarantee Steve Smith would drop me instantaneously. Well done Jackson.
  • 1 0
man oo man that kid can shred. exactly what the sport needs!, jealous of his riding but he's awesome.
  • 1 0
I think its time for me to sell my bike and go do ballet dancing or something....
  • 3 1
This is discouraging... Jackson Shreds harder than me!!...Good on ya dude!
  • 2 0
any bike... except a road bike
  • 2 0
Jack-the-ripper! Haha! The really nice version though.
  • 1 0
With footage like this, 20" wheels are likely to become a new industry standard

  • 1 0
Good eyes, I still can't make the brand out after watching a couple of times. I must be showing my age.

 @Brad82 Jackson's riding a 2015 Norco Fluid 24" in the video - www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/trail/fluid-24/fluid-42

about 5 months ago I bought my 2 oldest boys, 11 and 9 the same bike but I bought the 26" version, its a little big for them but they can roll over stuff better and grow into it without having to upgrade for a while. They are sweet bikes and my boys love them. Only cost 1500 (which is a lot for a kids bike but not for a full suspension bike with real rockshox suspension). BTW it was the ONLY full suspension bike I could find for that cost that fit my kids.
