 @leopaul: No kidding.... What drugs would you need to try that shit on a 55LB bike with 22" wide bars, 300mm reach, brakes that don't work, a seat you can't avoid... not to mention nobody knew how to build big back then. It was just a guess. Watch his jaw drop footage. 55' to what may as well have been a parking lot!

 @nuttypoolog: I used that clip just last week in my science class teaching my students some stuff about gravity, friction, mass, acceleration, etc. Lots of my physics lessons involve mtb vids. Mostly just just an excuse to watch that stuff while I am teaching.

 Tippie and his empty red bull cans, had one yesterday in the pre-show as well. Nice product placement but I'm pretty sure he doesn't drink them. I'd bet that the Red Bull secret sauce is extracted from him.

 A weird thing happened on my laptop earlier today. I had a YouTube how to instructional up in the background paused & it just started the RedBull LIVE FEED at practice interviewing McGazza's brother.

Have you guys seen Reed's over jump of the canyon gap...and then somehow almost killing himself UNDER jumping/casing it??? Bike...fine both times.

 This is just a huge slopestyle course... When it was all natural, even Atherton was able to score well just by being able to ride the gnar.

 Looking down at the whole area from the top it looks like an alpine serpentine road, only thing missing is the asphalt. Maybe next year they'll pave the roads to make it EXTRA GNARLY.
