Testing out the new fresh sections on the Massanutten pro track for round 3 of downhill southeast. Track improvement are great and I can’t wait to see how it burns in for race day!—Jake Kahn
Riding east coast rock gardens are like taking shots of tequila, rough on the way down but tasty and whole lot of fun, even if it gets you in trouble now and then.
That trail is awesome, I am so sick of "flow trails" that have absolutely no flow and stupidly big rollers. Flow follows the natural contours of the land, it can't be forced
My local jam, although lostay on the western slope side usually (no lifts, more trail ish). The sections between rock gardens are more rocky that most rock gardens. It's a blast and sharpens your skills. 90% of the time I'm on a hardtail too
As a Cat2 4 Lyfe racer, the Cat1 course looks kinda fun. Probably not good trails for me on a race run, though - Broken Bones > Head to Tree > Friday Fails.
That video is fake! Everyone knows that they schedule the race weekend around a huge rainstorm!
seriously, one of the funnest tracks I've ever ridden and it almost has as many rocks as the XC trails out here in the southwest. It is weird to see it dry though...it was ALWAYS raining on race day.
I dont unsretand how the races never are on tracks like the world cup east coast racing is so rocky and tight trail complete opposite of fast and flow wide open
You're fully pinned the whole way down that mountain. Go back and see how many pedal strokes they took.
It's a momentum track and if you work it right, it gets stupid fast.
That's a first day, first run on track too.

"I know this sounds crazy but what if we just had one continuous rock garden and top it all off with a flat, grass turn at the finish"
I can honestly say that I've never wanted to be a Pro-Cat1 DH racer less than after watching that track of misery.
Do you have like one rock where you live?
Kinda reminds me of the snowshoe track. Maybe because both are in WV.
