Aug 22, 2022
by Ed Spratt

bigquotesEnding our block of back-to-back races in North America with a bang, EWS Sugarloaf delivered a true rollercoaster of a race.

With more and more roots and rocks emerging from the churned up natural trails, riders were pushed to their limits and beyond as they battled against the clock with many of the world's best becoming unstuck in the process.

Watch our Highlights Show to catch all the action from Sugarloaf's EWS debut and find out who leads the series as we prepare for the final racing block of the 2022 season.

Great work @ews crew... I'll be one of the first to say I've felt the highlights have been lacking this season, but this round looks really really good. The narration touching on all the key points of a dramatic race, really good (and multiple) camera angles, some slomo to highlight trail conditions and give context, etc... Love it, keep up the good work

@jessemelamed is just a freaking class individual. Acknowledging the competition, but showing respect to Richie as well. Solid.

hearing him talk about his competitors is interesting, the dude is a complete fan. its always "Sam could hit this line, i'll give it my best shot but its unlikely" or "Richie could huck this gap, im not even going to try it" and never "i've been consistently beating everyone this year".

Was that Richie’s grandma screaming at the end?

came her to comment on that precisely!! biggest fan ever? girlfriend maybe? to loud and high pitch for a grandma

@elyari: I would easily be riding faster to get away from that screaming.

That better have been richie's Gma or girlfriend screaming at 8:30...otherwise there are some real stalker vibes coming out of that lol

Nicee, impressive highlights with such a short time... nothing to regret really... just hoping this to be the base layer where the added improvements be on.

So if my time is limited, do I watch the official highlights or the EWS show? Is there a difference? The last few rounds I ended up passing both because I couldn't decide and then I just forgot about it.

Just watch highlights. The show is just highlights plus a bit of filler.

Thank you, I almost forgot how composed Sam is in those flat corners compared to other riders. His technique is so calm it's almost a joke.

just visibly quicker on those corners. the best to ever do it

The highlights come out before the 'live' results are updated.....
