It says 2000 in the photo details section, he is riding an m1, with an ~2000 dorado's and fresh xt disc brakes that where as the dorados a new thing at that time - although it was posted just recently it is a 15 year photo, or at least a rider wearing an 15 year old team kit riding an 15 year old bike restored to last detail with disregard of any up to date safety precausions like brakes or knee pads... i think it is easier and safer to just post an old photo
A dream bike for many, including me, at that time and a few years more... And probably still very capable...
They (dorados) became available to the "avarage" user, who could afford it, to be bought in 2001/2002, however just like nowadays the pros could use and test them a year or two ahead... When x-vert carbon were the top range fork yet available for the mass from manitou range. I am pretty sure they ware used on the wc on 2000 - saw it with my own eyes in Kaprun... some great memories of that times...
This looks to be around 2002 because I remember seeing him at Mt. Snow in that summer for the then "NORBA Nationals" on this same exact setup with the Manitou Dorado fork and Sun Ringle singletrack DH wheels. It's great to see some "old school" shots in the mix.
Well . . . it says Chris Kovarik in the description, the title of the picture is Kovarik M3, and in the image details under the caption "Rider" it says Kovarik . . . . . . . You know what . . . . . I think you may be right !!! ;-)
