You're all complaining saying this isn't pod worthy, which I won't disagree with, it doesn't match the quality of most pods, but then I here everyone complaining about contests and stuff that only professional photographers get to partake in! And quality aside, that's some pretty sick ridding!

dylan-honar (Jan 21, 2013 at 2:25)

The past week I've noticed nothin but hate on all the pods Fudgee people just enjoy the pic and not every little detail

Jack-Richter (Jan 21, 2013 at 5:57)

thats a sick photo and the bike and the scenery sick but the helmet kinda ruins it for me..

bullitboy105 (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:10)

helmet looks like some power rangers shit haha!

epavichthesavage (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:05)

Complaining about the VOD/POD is a Pinkbike tradition

BikeNERD007 (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:11)

Who cares about complaining... atleast he can do this WITHOUT juicing.

mnorris122 (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:18)

I never realized how big a 180 fork truly is untill this photo...

roberm (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:40)

The bridge reminds me of Old School riding on the Shore.

OS141121 (Jan 21, 2013 at 9:14) (Below Threshold)

That bike is going to break (because it's a Kona)

haroman666 (Jan 21, 2013 at 11:53)

I remember the days when POD was all about the riding that was being displayed in the picture. Nowadays it seems to obtain POD the picture must have a 5* rating from the top photography critiques that pinkbike has to offer and if the exposure is a nanosecond too long the picture is not even worthy of being printed on toilet paper.
I know a well taken picture adds to the portrayal of the riding but I think some people should look less a the picture and more at the riding. I mean; that's what we're all here for right?
EDIT: Just seen i've echo'ed the views of some one else further down the page.

scottrallye (Jan 21, 2013 at 16:10) (Below Threshold)

I hate flat handlebars.

potatoracing2 (Jan 21, 2013 at 16:21)

uhhhhh... cool?

yourdudeness (Jan 21, 2013 at 17:25)

@scottrallye, they hate u

Andrew-Taylor (Jan 21, 2013 at 21:14)

Too much steeze, sorry cant be pod. Gotta complain about something.

*rants on about how not to complain and not to rant about ranting about complaining* ...inception...

Easy-S (Jan 21, 2013 at 21:52)

this photograph, i really like it! I don't see why people are going out of their way and just complaining on the smallest of things.

erikthefatty (Jan 21, 2013 at 22:05)

At first glance I didn't like the picture either. Now that I have taken some time to truly look at it, I really appreciate the composition. Like Jack said, the only thing I find that detracts from the quality are the bright, overpowering colors of the helmet. They don't flow with the muted earth tones in the rest of the picture.

JakeMness (Jan 21, 2013 at 2:44)

If you don't like it, go out and take a better picture.

TheArbez (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:51)

this right here

Draggon (Jan 22, 2013 at 12:44)

Jake speaketh the truth......

jamesrbrown (Jan 21, 2013 at 2:58)

Dont forget this is primarily a website for MTB riders, not photographers. Occasionally a photo will be awesome just for its content, despite poor photographic quality.

gabrielastin (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:06)

That smudge under the road gap is really distracting?

deepcreekmedia (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:16) (Below Threshold)

how did this get pod?

TomBell95 (Jan 21, 2013 at 13:36)

god dammit it wasn't distracting till you mentioned it.

alan-riding (Jan 21, 2013 at 3:50)

Bande de canadien de merde arretez d etre jaloux!

husstler (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:07)

I'm not jealous.

Draggon (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:12)

Is that a penny?

Timberspot (Jan 21, 2013 at 1:36)

maigre style!

binks (Jan 21, 2013 at 3:46)

nice to see a pod that aint 'too' perfect for once.

Xj1998 (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:52)

is it just me or does that 36 look like it has ~9" of travel?

Groscreux (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:51)

You're right. It's a talas and when you inflate it with a high pressure you get more travel. This 36 has about 7.5" of travel instead 7".

boogaloo77 (Jan 21, 2013 at 4:59)

personally, i like this one better, from the same guy, in the same album

scotttherider (Jan 21, 2013 at 10:35)

F the haters I think this is a pretty sick shot it ain't as crisp as other pods but its sick riding and some decent style on it. It gets my vote.

mitche04 (Jan 22, 2013 at 10:56)

All I gunna say is SICK!!!!!

matthewlikesbikes (Jan 21, 2013 at 20:15)

I actually kind of like this POD better than some of the nominations for POY. Sure, the compostion isn't the best, but it is a pretty damn sick shot

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:29)

Tight crop, awkward rider position, blown out background, underexposed rider, and a smudge mark. Yup. Definitely a POD.

davidmtbDH (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:38)

who cares, just enjoy what is there! there will be another one tomorrow!

cameronb3321 (Jan 21, 2013 at 0:44)

Dont forget that beautifully infocus landing

briancahal (Jan 21, 2013 at 1:04)

The world isn't coming to an end just because you think a pod doesn't deserve pod. Take a deep breath and relax pinkbikers.

VTwintips (Jan 21, 2013 at 2:25)

I think its super old-school looking.

aiken (Jan 21, 2013 at 3:10)

Awkward rider position?! Suck a dick, steeze like that off a drop is hard to get. That's f*cking rad!

Jiffla (Jan 21, 2013 at 4:05)

Chill out man you sound like my mum.. It's not always about composition or necessarily the best photographic skills sometimes it's just about the rider. I

rory-hackett (Jan 21, 2013 at 4:53)

Complain about the photo all you want but as aiken said, that style off the drop is SO sick.

redrook (Jan 21, 2013 at 5:00)

@aiken, he means awkward as in the rider's position in the frame. There's been much worse pods on here!

duartep (Jan 21, 2013 at 5:32)

It´s only a pod, enjoy it for what it is... It´s not like he is going to be the next president or something...

dingus (Jan 21, 2013 at 6:38)

I agree that the photo could be better, but the steeze that the rider is throwing on that drop is POD worthy. Fa shaw!

variclier-etienne (Jan 21, 2013 at 6:48)

Suce mon chibre canadien de merde hehe

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 6:50)

Je sais le francais aussi. No need for personal attacks.

dixieponch (Jan 21, 2013 at 6:58)

Trozei your photos should be a pod instead of this one ! www.pinkbike.com/photo/8023140

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 6:59)

No they shouldn't.

dixieponch (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:10)

www.pinkbike.com/video/289836

And this video vod? Ok I stop ...

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:11)

You're not funny.

dixieponch (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:16)

I say the same to you

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:17)

I'm not trying to be funny, so yes I'd have to agree that no, I do not come across as humorous.

benjrouiller (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:25)

Bordel c'est quand que tu vas la fermer ta gueule, on arriverait encore mieux à apprécier la photo sans votre merde en commentaire, c'est pas parce que ce site est canadien que vous pouvez faire vos rois

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:42)

Feel free to speak English so that those around you can understand you. Obviously you understand English as you are replying to my comments. Go ahead and argue with me about how the photo's composition is actually done well, that the background is not blow ln out, that there's no awkward smudge mark or what is most likely a badly placed foreground, and that the rider is not underexposed. You can say I'm running my mouth all you want, but thus far all I've done is critique the photo and tell your French buddies there to not personally attack me and that I don't find their rummaging through my photos funny. To those of you in France, you may as well just accept that you actually won a battle for once instead of having to fly the white flag and embrace it instead of flame those who don't appreciate the beauty of it.

dixieponch (Jan 21, 2013 at 7:59)

You are crazy

Bettadendat (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:04)

Jussssssst throwing this out there, but the French Military is, in terms of European Conflict, the most statistically successful military in history.

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:05)

I know, but I couldn't resist.

dixieponch (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:09)

Vive la weed

trozei (Jan 21, 2013 at 8:09)

Weed always brings people together.

davidmtbDH (Jan 23, 2013 at 13:43)
