First Look: Santa Cruz's First eMTB, the 2020 Heckler
@inked-up-metalhead: How many times do you need more range than 504Wh? For me, it's enough and 3-5 times a year I'm taking a spare for longer tours, the rest of the time I swap it at home or at my car. With a bigger battery, you also have more weight and you carry it around all the time even if you don't use the full capacity of it...

First Look: Santa Cruz's First eMTB, the 2020 Heckler
@tomhoward379: Specialized's 'in-house' motor is a German Mahle motor. Yes, the Heckler is 3kg heavier but it has a proper fork, shock, and tires that belong to an ebike while the Levo SL has everything you would complain about if they were on your regular trail bike... If you look at the details, the SL's 35Nm Mahle motor is 800g lighter than E8000 and Bosch Gen 4 motors and the battery is smaller hence lighter. The rest of the weight savings come from 'undersized' components.

Video: Camille Servant Attacks the Climbs on his eMTB in 'Climbing Ain't Dead'
I don't care who rides what but ebikes are a big f*ck you to climate change and to the environment in general. My issue is the much bigger environmental impact of their production (motor, battery etc.) compared to a regular bike...

Ebike racing especially on pro level is just sad... and with all the batteries, resources etc. used in their production (compared to a regular bike) they are just a big f*ck you to the environment.

@Luis-Sc: "Terspta absolutely vanderpooled Neff" - that's exactly what happened and I had the same feeling when I saw it... she had the same style and strength.

@magnusc: The men's race would have been a total carnage with lots of potential injuries. Not sure if the racers want to take themselves out at the beginning of the season or spectators want to watch riders running instead fo riding. There are no 'ifs' the course was the same for everybody. One prefers one course the other prefers another one but the best riders can be on (or close to) the top on every course just like Nino and MVDP.

@rrsport: Not taking away anything from Anton but put it in perspective Jolanda Neff won a race with two flats last year. The track was the same for everybody... high speed and lots of climbing, that's XCO.
