Old, prefer brutal slogs and hike a bike 14er or similar. If its rugged uphill i just carry the bike. Hate gps and photo time with a passion. Get lost most rides, till i know every junction and every trail. Havnt paid a shop to maintain a bike yet. Wont pay retail, high expectations for bikes costing thousands.long time maxxis guy but they may be losing the plot. Still ride a zaskar from 1999 with a marz fork when the wonderbike is under repair or maintenance. "Best way to ride is dont crash" if i dont bonk hard and run out of water, the ride is too short.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 24 - Why Even Buy a DH Bike?
You can get a tues with fox 40 and dhx2 tough wheels, downhill casings and spend under 2k used. That is a lot of bike, and no worries abusing the hell out of it. I see no reason not to have it vs incremental upgrades to a shockingly expensive enduro making it worse and worse for uphill. Put the carbon and lightweight stuff into an xc or tail bike for all the other riding involving distance and climbing. Best of both worlds. Right tool for the job.

BYB Releases Updated & Expanded Suspension Telemetry System
Seems like the right product for the right person...but who is this person? I could spend a month perfecting my roomba track, or just vacuum the floor for ten minutes. But if we are racing roombas, and sponsored, i guess its time well spent.

Hyper to Begin Selling High End Mountain Bikes Through Walmart
Seen a guy with a wall mart full suspension rig. About to head up a rugged trail. Big bag of tools, dialing it in. Tryin his best, tryin to do it. With cheese rims, tires made from asphalt, 40lb rig, bouncy springs. I felt so bad because with his efforts and determination he deserved a rugged hardtail with decent tires and a fork that gets it done. I'd even donate my old rig to get him goin. But i'm not gonna preach, unless I'm asked for help.
