Old rider, moving to modern geo and full suspension. Accepting I will never rampage but enjoy rugged rides on singletrack up and down. finally shitcanned telemark ski also. Just want to enjoy the outdoors and benefit from modern equipment. No ebike for me, but if people like them, ride them! I coexist with horses, hikers, or kx500. Just be polite to other trail users.

Pinkbike Poll: Are You Satisfied With Your Brakes?
My scrotum was torn on a hot brake pad. After a rousing bagpipe sonata of amazing grace, i got back on the horse and broke it with the brakes it came with. Not worried about scars because big boy looks like great white shark with the battle scars and such, like flipping 3 burgers at once on the bbq gonna leave a mark...

Pinkbike Poll: Are You Satisfied With Your Brakes?
Running deore 4 pots. Lucky i guess because 2 pots was spec. They seem pretty good, but the strpped blead port from delivery not cool, bung screw plug fixxed it. Maybe it is the (tiny) 180mm rotor in the back but this brake loses confidance in mild rough conditions. They are butch enough to get me lookin at bigger rotors but: I miss the codes with big rotors on the capra. Friggin amazing brakes. Like motocross brakes for a bicycle.

Nicolai First to Reveal a Production-Ready Bike With Lal Bikes' Supre Drivetrain
Holy mackeral! Someone burned the candle at both ends and a 50 gallon barrel of midnight oil to bring a completely new design to production. Incredible final design considering just how wild the whole thing really is. I have always lusted for a nicolai or geometron, and that has not changed. I think I could ignore the complexity and visual confusion, and just enjoy riding it no problem. Probably just buy a regular g1, and faff about with inverted forks and schweet coil shocks, but I am an old codger that takes change as an assault to tender sensibilities. Still utterly impressed.

Review: Trek's 2023 Fuel EX-e Is Light & Nearly Completely Silent
I am gonna admit I like this bike. Especially the concept. The curved top tube looks a little old fashioned, but otherwise it looks pleasingly not distorted or "pregnant" I'm gonna hold out for similar idea with removeable motor and battery. That would seem truly ideal. Also more adjustability for fit, head angle, chainstay length and of course more power and less weight... If computers and phones are any indication, these things will get better and cheaper quite quickly. (Checks cost of new phones...okay better, maybe not cheaper)
