Stan's NoTubes Sold to an Investment Company as Founders Retire
If my own personal experience is a barometer, good for Stan’s founders, not so good for any remaining employees. Be wary if the parent company starts bringing a bunch of inexperienced MBA’s on board.

Flat Pedal Shoe Review: Ride Concepts vs Scott vs Shimano vs Five Ten
I Agree regarding the Northwaves. I have flat narrow feet and the Northwave Clans were the best fitting and gripping shoe I could find. Tried various 5.10s,spec roosts, giro, shimano, ride concepts. Only other shoe that I liked was 5.10 contact which was discontinued and a half size too small.

Review: EXT Arma Downhill Coil Shock
Good point. I think in some, not all cases, this is caused by thinking a new bike will cause the person to be a better rider, or the fit not being right which is understandable. For the former reason this behavior happens a lot with guitar players, something that really doesn’t wear out.

Jul 15, 2021Transition Scout Large
$2250 USDI am not the original owner of this bike. I bought it in August 2020. It is a super solid bike. It was too cramped for me. I am a super lanky 6 foot 1. I now ride an XL that fits much better.
Major components
Rockshox Pike Fork
Fox Float DPX2 Elite Rear Shock
SRAM GX drive train
Shimano SLX brakes
KS Lev Integra dropper post
Not all parts are stock.
Here are the stock specs I believe closest to this build: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Transition/Scout-GX-Complete,20427
Parts I know are different or in addition from stock:
1. Brakes are Shimano SLX instead of SRAM Guide R
2. Dropper post is KS Lev Integra instead of RockShox Reverb Stealth
3. Maxxis Rekon (F) 2.6 /Forekaster (R) 2.6 Maxxis Minion DHF (F)/DHR II (R) (I believe stock had 2.3 for both Front & Rear)
4. Possibly the Rockshock Pike vs Lyrik (as listed on the link above)...however other spec links mention the Pike (may have had multiple builds) https://www.mtbcommunity.com/mtb-product-reviews/138-2018-transition-scout
5. Spank Oozy pedals (assume bike did not come with pedals)
Issues with the bike:
1. There are some small scratches and paint chips. I tried to show in the pictures.
2. The saddle has a small tear. You can see in the one attached picture.
3. Rear thru axle is now secured with low-hold Loctite. It would loosen every couple rides. This led to a problem with the freehub body which eventually needed to be replaced, which Was replaced by LBS in March.
4. If I were to be keeping the bike, I would probably buy new tires for it. They have a decent amount of tread left, but they are fairly fast rolling low-knob tires. I'd prefer them to grip better.
Other than that, this has been a great bike other than the fit was too cramped for me.

$75 USDWorn once Giro Riddance Mid Flat mountain bike shoes. They cover your inside ankle bone which was their main selling point to me. Bought for $120. However, They were a little too roomy for me, I have flat, low volume feet. Size 44 eu, 10.5 us.
