The new stumpy looks sooo dialed and for 5200 I think its a solid price. If I had the cash ide buy it.

He had great flow, but he didn't ride it any harder than you'd ride any stumpjumper. Not much of an EVO demo...

Yeah, they should. 25lbs gets you a different bike than it did last year, this bike is strong as hell and is probably one of the most capable "do everything" bikes on the market.

I feel like cross country bikes are being made too downhill. If you want to ride downhill get a top notch dh bike for the same price...

This isn't exactly a cross country bike. Its more of an all mountain/trail bike. Its a bike for the people who aren't strictly xc racer's and still want a light, fun bike, that they can go out and shred some trails with.

I race xc on a 2011 stumpjumper, it's really fun, this bike just does everything, climbs awesome, rips downhill, it takes anything I throw at it in a race and any all mountian ride. the best days of my summer were had on this bike, on a smooth flowy trail this bike is more fun than any downhill bike I've ever ridden.

Yeah dude I totally get you, I have a much better time pinned on santa cruz's smooth flowy trail on my 4 inch travel bike than my dh. Wish I had a stumpy though

They are trying to make a bike capable of shredding the downhill as well as pedaling to the top. I just got a '11 evo and it crushes going up hills, but it still feels great on the decent. While I wont be taking the evo over my sx trail for gnarly trails, the evo is perfect for epic rides with a combination up and down.
