To AM biker, thats the way my buds ride XC, it's a quick pace of about 16mph average in singletracks and switch backs, XC is not gay, just underestimated...

I'm sick of these adds and bullshit, it was some nice xcing but to be fair there wasn't that much riding, i don't watch a video like a vod to want to buy something. I mean xt shifters? who cares as long as it shifts., but to be f*cking entertained and want to ride after watching it!

That would be a poor way of choosing VOD's just b/c it has some pro's or well known riders in it. The great filming and music that excites you is why they should get VOD.

And one other thing, I have seen a lot better videos of just a couple of friends having fun on their bikes, having fun making the video, with some shitty camera, and not showing their bike parts all the time and sayng how wanderfull they are. Why dont they get Vods. Excuse me if im wrong, but it starts to piss me of.

they are pros, they are sponsored. of course they have to talk up their sponsors or there wouldnt be any pros in MTB. The whole point of that video was an advert, i highly doubt they wouls have conversations with eachother like that if shimano werent filming lol

Yes, thats true. I understand the riders, but not pinkbike. Would you watch vods if there ware only commercials in it? Vod means video of the day (not commercial of the day), and there are thousands of better videos on pinkbikie, and people that want to share them with the others and get some inteligent, constructive comments, not just "shimano sucks" or "boring vod" all the time.

you could always borrow a gun, use an old one maybee...I guess the rest can rush out to the local gun shop and get the latest and greatest, that way they can fit in with all the other cool kids who shoot their self in the face with high end firearms rather than look cheap with their unadvertised borrowed piece of junk they dug outta the back of the closet, and the website who force fed them the adds for that fire-arm can accredit themselves for the sale of one more consumer good

Pinkbike is here for one purpose. Share the Ride. That original tag line rings true more than ever. Pinkbike is here to promote riding to more and more people and to help innovation in this sport. To introduce new riders to the sport, to introduce current riders to other aspects of the sport and to promote the companies, big and small, the riders,pro an noob, the photographers and film makers, new and old, to each other.
Corporate is only bad if it takes from the industry and does not give back. Most of the cycling companies are continually giving back. Take for example this. Shimano supports riders like Shandro and Simmons allowing them be in the industry, test, and possibly innovate on products that you all will take advantage of. Shimano supports film makers like anthill so they can create great videos like this for them and you to watch, but also, it gives anthill the funds and ability to create full films down the road, that we all enjoy even more. They also support websites like pinkbike, who then in turn supports riders, who then in turn help out other riders, etc. Now, consumers who support those companies allow them to further innovate and support more aspects of the industry and in a greater capacity. So it's a big circle.
The moral of the story is, if you want to keep cycling healthy, support the companies who you see promoting the sport the most, innovating in the sport, and who support other aspects and people in the sport.

fair enough, I now stand educated, but looking at the other user comments I'm not the only one who saw it like that...I believe that VOD should be USER content and the addvertising should be religated to the news section...share the ride, not the add's....its been stated before that Pinkbike is not a democracy and user opinions are of little signifigance in comparison to advetising dollars.....guess talk is cheap

i heard someone (forget who) say that xc is like dh but you climb up. Then ii heard someone else say that person was stupid and that xc will never shred downhills like dowhillers do. That may be true but at least trail riders CAN pedal up hill and CAN go downhill, better to be versatile than being good at something and sucking at everything else.

Give me negative props, but pinkbike starts to suck. Almost only comercial and trailer Vods, what is the sense of it (besides pinkbike making money)? There should be a seperate category for those videos.

No kidding, Why do these companies have to advertise on Pinkbike? Can't they just make money out of thin air like everyone else? Pinkbike is so corporate and big business these days. Making all those millions of dollars.
Without advertising and marketing on here, you'd all have to pay to watch and check the site out. We'd be paying to post our Buy/Sell ads, and this site would be a fraction of what it is today. We should be stoked that companies like this are making quality stuff for us to watch and enjoy. They support the scene.

yeah they only started riding half way through! and then it wasn't anything special at all, alright terrain, but no amazing camera angles or video techniques. lets have some real vods please pinkbike, ones that really deserve it.
although yesterday's one was also a commercial it was insane, so nothing against that, but they should be worth it

You guys are over- reacting. Thats a cool movie that I enjoyed watching. I dont really care that its an ad. I really dont, and its not like "pink bike is selling out" run for the hills!!!! They put it up as vod because they thought people might like it. Besides, Tommorow is another day - lighten up!

because we all want a percentage of the cost of the parts we buy to pay some vidio editor, camera guy, support crew, etc. etc. or some random 'whocares' around the world for some exotic vidio shoot....I'l support companies and websites that build trails and support grassroots rider progams, not facking commercials depicting why my shit ended up costing soo much.....just more middle men with their greasy fingers in you pocket, sucking the life from us all, and the best part is you all think its a good thing.....you must, your the ones who are gonna pay the bill, not me sucktards!

holy ad batman! these two washed up riders don't look like they could bike up anything. at least andy lost some weight, but look at the old man he's riding with, is that grandpa simmons. the reason there's only a little bit of footage is 'cause between epsom bath's and geritol they managed to let go of the walker for just a min. soo sad, shimano should stick to selling fishing rod's
