So excited for world cups! The U.S. is going to have a strong showing this season! Hopefully Neko can keep his chains and Gwin can keep air in his tires! Eliot also looked on form at Rotura.

Lol. This is why I quit my lucrative career that sucked the life out of me and work in a bike shop. Best decision I ever made.

I was thinking about getting one of those under the desk blondes.

Rdot84 - do you get to ride much? Most guys I know that work in a bike shop feel tortured by being around bikes and having to work and no time to ride!
  • 2 0
@orastreet1 My schedule is actually pretty good so I can get out and ride at least 3-4 times a week. The problem with working at a shop is all the gear I can get at cost. Always bad for a bike addict. At least I admitted it. They say that's the first step to recovery.

@Rdot84 I generally do okay until a rep shows up with all the new cool shit. But I've heard living of 2min noodles is enduro, so I keep at it.

Awesome to see another pinned and down to earth character on the scene! stoked for Neko, hoping to see him on the podium some more this year!

Gotta love the God Save the Rat shirt Neko's bro was wearing! Also super stoked to see what Neko can do this season, especially as an East Coast United States Mountain Biker myself, it feels great to have a pro like Neko at the top representing.

Hell yeah man! It was so sick at Windham last year hearing the crowd go nuts for a guy from the east coast. People were so psyched for his run.
  • 9 0
Wait this guy is supposed to use a chain?
  • 5 0
I doubt it. He went the first minute of the video without a single pedal stroke. No wonder he did so well at worlds without a chain.

In the year 2015, beer is faster than energy drinks. Stay pinned Neko, make us proud!

I live in North Carolina too and I always thought we have some beautiful scenery and good hills and mountains... but now hearing it from a world cup racer that he choose this place as home to train for the world cups, that make me feel better, we ride some decant stuff around here. Best of luck Neko! We'll be watching....

I was down in Brevard 10 days ago to get away from the Boston snow. My brother and I bumped into Neko on day one. We talked to him about the area and where to ride. Seems like a great kid who is very motivated. He was sprinting climbs and said he moved down there to ride year round. Cheers to a great season!! I hope it all pays off.

Love the hub noise, dirt grinding, and sticks snapping in the intro... That IS music.

For those wondering. Dreamers - AWOLNATION.
  • 4 0
It's red bull. It had to be awolnation.

You make a good point. Red Bull Records do have some other brilliant artists too tho!

Was his brother using the tool handle to tighten the lower crown bolts???
  • 3 0
I was thinking the same thing. At the last second I think you can see a short allen key coming out of the other end of the handle. Its a good idea, put a 3 or 4 mm stubby hex wrench on the handle of a 5mm wrench.

trail riding just next to a forest in fire, done
  • 2 0
Prescribed fire: raises soil pH, releases nutrients, controls fuel loadings, inhibits growth of less desirable species, some species require burns to successfully reproduce. If you look at 'charcoal records' you will find that semi regular fire has been in the region for the past 5000 years and only recently has it been restricted.

Thats why the table rock fire two years ago was so bad in northern Pisgah.

there should be a mechanic's race on the world cups, something like the truck races on Dakar.
  • 1 0
There's nearly always a mess about thing with any team member taking part!

Good luck this year as always! You got the feel down and looked great through last season, progressing each race. Its all you man !!!!!!!
  • 2 0
 1:40 !?
  • 2 0
 controlled burn?
  • 3 0
Yeah... they do that a lot in North Carolina. They take down the old nasty stuff and the forest rebuilds itself stronger and nicer after that.
  • 2 0
they do that in South Africa as well makes the soil more fertile
  • 5 0
and it stops "uncontrolled burns" happening of their own volition.
  • 3 0
Well, reduces the chance. Controlled burns can also become uncontrolled ones at times as well. Happens on occasion where I'm from.
  • 2 0
They hadn't done any controlled burns for decades in north Pisgah, then two years ago a fire started on Table Rock and it burned for days and days and destroyed a huge chunk of land. All because the vacation home owners petitioned to stop them from doing controlled burns cause it might spoil their views.

All I could do at the start was check if he was using a chain
  • 1 0
Well either good vibes or no chain, whatever tickles your fancy
